American Telugu Association (ATA) has celebrated International Women’s Day at Royal Albert’s Palace, New Jersey USA on a grand scale. The event was attended by more than 400 women from all walks of life.

The celebrations started with the traditional lamp lighting by ATA leadership followed by welcome statement by Smt. Indira Reddy, Women’s Committee Chair.

Vin Gopal the youngest south Asian American senator from NJ was the guest of honor for the event. Past President Sudhakar Perikari introduced Vin Gopal and the senator spoke at length about Women’s empowerment and gave commendations from NJ State to ATA for the community service that’s being done by ATA.

A panel of experts gave inspirational speeches on a topics like Women Career and Empowerment, Women in Entrepreneurship, Women in Politics and Charity.

New Jersey freeholder Ms Shanti Narra stressed on how essential it is for women to come out and participate in politics.

On the occasion, Dr Indu Gopal was felicitated for her commendable contribution to the field of Science. And Ms. Indira Reddy who has been serving the community and for her excellence and for spreading the Indian traditional dance Kuchipudi through her dance school as artistic director of 'Center for Kuchipudi Dance’, has been felicitated.

ATA President-Elect Parmesh Bheemreddy addressed the gathering and spoke eloquently about the organization, its values and services to the community, upcoming American Telugu Convention by ATA-TATA in Dallas. He requested all the women to become ATA members and participate in all ATA activities.

The entertainment continued for 2 hours with performances, Fashion walk and interactive fun games.

Local women exhibited their talents in singing and dances.

This event was coordinated by ATA Regional Coordinators Ravinder Gudur and Vilas Jambula and was supported by Local ATA Board of trustees, standing committee chairs and all other ATA local leaders.

The ATA local leadership was present in full strength to support the event. President Elect Parmesh Bheemreddy, past presidents Mr. Sudhakar Perkari, Rajender Jinna, Suresh Jilla, advisory Committee co-chair, Trustees Parashuram Pinnapureddy, Srinivas Dargula, Raghuveer Reddy, Ravi Patlola, Standing committee chair, Ramesh Maganti, ATA International Co-ordinator Srikant Gudipati, Regional Advisor Raj Chilumula attended the event and the whole ATA Team worked hard to make this event a big success.

The celebration was attended by community leaders from several other organizations, Rajeshwar Gangasani, President NATA, Vidya Garapati, Regional Coordinator TANA, Sudhakar Uppala, President Elect TFAS, Sharath Veta, Vice President, Manabadi of Silicon Andhra.

The organizing women team comprising of Nandini Dargula, Madhavi Aruva, Anuradha, Dasari, Vineela Reddy, Arundhati Shakelli, Indira Samudrala, Sridevi Obbineni, Nanditha Tadasina, Deepika Belum, Jamuna Puskur, Bhanu Maganti, Sangeetha Dhanapaneni , Chitralekha Jambula, Madhavi Gudur and many more entertained the attendees with some fun interactive games. Fashion contest was a big success. Local women exhibited their talents in singing and dances. Several vendors showcased their items and it looked like a shopping season at vendor’s stalls. All in all it was a very highly entertaining afternoon.

అమెరికాలో ఆటా మహిళ దినోత్సవం !

అమెరికా తెలుగు ఆసోసియేషన్ (ఆటా) ఆధ్వర్యంలో అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవ వేడుకలు ఇటీవల ఘనంగా న్యూ జెర్సీ రాయల్ ఆల్బర్ట్ ప్యాలస్ లో సుమారు 450 మందికి పైగా జరుపుకున్నారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని సాంప్రదాయ జ్యోతి ప్రజ్వలనతో అటా అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవ నిర్వాహక సంఘం సభ్యురాలు శ్రీమతి ఇందిరా రెడ్డి గారు తొలుత స్వాగతం పలికారు.

ఈనాటి ఉత్సవ ప్రత్యేకత :
అతి పిన్న వయస్సు గల ఆసియన్ అమెరికన్ సెనెటర్ న్యూ జెర్సీ స్టేట్ సెనెటర్ విన్ గోపాల్ విశిష్ట అతిధిగ రావడంతో పూర్వ ప్రెసిడెంట్ సుధాకర్ పెర్కారి గారు సభకు పరిచయం చేశారు, విన్ గోపాల్ గారు మాట్లాడుతూ మహిళా సాధికారత గురించి, మహిళలు అన్ని రంగాల్లో ఆర్ధిక స్వావలంబన, వ్యాపార రంగం , సేవ రంగాల్లో రాణించడం గురించి చర్చించారు.

న్యూ జెర్సీ ఫ్రీ హోల్డర్ కుమారి శాంతి నర్రా గారు మాట్లాడుతూ మహిళలు కూడా అమెరికా రాజకీయాలలోకి రావాలని ప్రగాఢముగా కోరారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమములో, ప్రముఖ సాంప్రదాయక కూచిపూడి డైరెకర్ శ్రీమతి ఇందిరా రెడ్డి గారు స్థాపించిన "సెంటర్ ఫర్ కూచిపూడి డాన్స్" చేస్తున్న విశిష్ట సేవలకు గాను, డాక్టర్ ఇందు గోపాల్ గారిచే సన్మానం మరియు జ్ఞాపికను అందచేశారు

ఆటాప్రెసిడెంట్ ఎలెక్ట్ పరమేష్ భీంరెడ్డి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ అమెరికా తెలుగు ఆసోసియేషన్ చేస్తున్న పలు సేవ కార్యక్రమాలు అద్భుతముగా ఉన్నాయి అని తెలుపుతూ, అమెరికన్ తెలుగు అసోసియేషన్ మరియు తెలంగాణ అమెరికన్ తెలుగు అసోసియేషన్ సంయుక్తంగా డల్లాస్‌, టెక్సాస్‌లలో మే 31, జూన్ 1, జూన్ 2 తేదీల్లో మూడు రోజుల పాటు నిర్వహించబోయే తెలుగు కన్వెన్షన్‌కు హాజరుకావాల్సిందిగా తెలుగువారిని ఆహ్వానించారు.

అటా న్యూ జెర్సీ ప్రాంతీయ సమన్వయకర్తలు రవీందర్ గూడురు మరియు విలాస్ రెడ్డి జంబుల మరియు లోకల్ ఆటా బోర్డు ట్రస్టీ సభ్యులు, స్టాండింగ్ కమిటీ చైర్స్ మిగితా ఆటా లోకల్ సభ్యులు కలిసి ఈ కార్యక్రమం విజయవంతం కావడానికి ఎంతగానో కృషి చేశారు.

మహిళలు తమ వృత్తినీ, సంసార బాధ్యతలను సమతూకంగా నిర్వహించుకోవడం,
విశ్వవ్యాప్తంగా తమ ప్రతిభాపాటవాలతో ఖ్యాతి సంపాదించిన మహిళామణులను గురించి నందిని దార్గుల , మాధవి అరువ, అనురాధ దాసరి , వినీల రెడ్డి , అరుంధతి షాకెళ్లి , ఇందిరా సముద్రాల , శ్రీదేవి ఒబ్బినేని , నందిత తడసిన, దీపికా బెలుం , మాధవి గూడూరు, జమున పుస్కూర్, భాను మాగంటి , సంగీత ధన్నపనేని , మాధవ గూడూర్, స్వర్ణ భీం రెడ్డి , జ్యోతి , నిహారిక గుడిపాటి ,శ్రీలత రెడ్డి , చిత్రలేఖ జంబుల మరియు ఇతర మహిళ సభ్యులు సభను ఉద్దేశించి మాట్లాడారు

అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవం పురస్కరించుకుని తరచుగా వార్తలలో తారసిల్లే భారతీయ మహిళలను గురించి సంయుక్తంగా క్విజ్ పోటీ అనేకమందిని ఆకర్షించింది. సభ్యులు ఉత్సాహంగా క్విజ్ లో పాల్గొని సమాధానాలు చెప్పడంలో పోటీలు పడ్డారు.

విజేతలందరికీ తగిన రీతిలో బహుమతులను అందచేసారు.
ఇలాంటి సందర్భాలలో ఏర్పాటుచేసే చీరెలు, బంగారు ఆభరణాల స్టాళ్లలో మంచి సందడి కనిపించింది. చక్కటి వ్యాపారం జరిగినందుకు స్టాళ్ళ నిర్వాహకుల్లో ఆనందం కనిపించింది.

మహిళా దినోత్సవ వేడుకల్లో పాల్గొని కార్యక్రమాన్ని విజయవంతం చేయడంలో సహకరించిన ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ అటా నిర్వాహక సంఘం కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపింది.
