Bay Area Telugu Association (BATA) celebrated auspicious “Deepavali” (దీపావళి) in a grand style. It is the BATA “flagship” event and very popular among the Bay Area Telugu community. The event was received tremendous support from local community. For the 1st time, it was celebrated in SanRamon/Dublin tri-valley (Gale Ranch Middle school), California. The event started at 5:00 pm and went until 10:00 PM.
The event’s presenting sponsor was “You Smile Dental” and Grand sponsor was “PNG Jewelers”.

The auditorium was very well decorated with Deepavali diya’s and flowers.

The program started at 5:00 pm. Vijaya Aasuri (BATA advisor) welcomed all the guests.

Program Highlights:
Little kids & Teens performed dances to latest Tollywood hit songs & BATA youth team presented high energy & foot tapping dance numbers.

BATA cultural team members conducted training classes at various locations – Fremont, San Ramon, Milpitas, Cupertino & San Jose. The team thanked all the participants for their cooperation.
The highlight of the evening was the presence of Tollywood actors “Nikhil & Avika Gor”.
Both of them interacted very well with the audience and also conducted fun filled games. Also latest Indian Idol winner “Revanth” along with Prudhvi Chandra & Mounima presented super-duper hit songs both from the past & latest chart buster hits.
Kids & adults joined them, dancing on stage and thoroughly enjoyed the programs.

Local elected officials & dignitaries joined the event and conveyed Deepavali greetings to the attendees and congratulated BATA team for putting together very entertaining show and promoting the rich Telugu Culture. Elected officials & dignitaries include Mr. Phil O'Loane (San Ramon Vice Mayor), Mr. Craig Stevens (San Ramon Chief of Police), San Ramon City Parks Commissioner, Mr. Sridhar Verose (Parks commissioner), Ms. Amy Miller (President, Board of Dublin School District), and Tinni Mukherjee (Student Representative - Dublin School Dist).

Speaking on the occasion Yashwant Kudaravalli (President) thanked BATA team members & all the volunteers for their hard work and making the event a grand success.
Yashwant introduced BATA executive committee consisting of:
Harinath Chikoti (Vice President), Sumanth Pusuluri (Secretary), Kondal Rao (Treasurer) & Arun Reddy (Jt. Secretary)
“Steering Committee” includes, Ravi Thiruveedula, Kamesh Malla, Kalyan Kattamuri & Sirisha Battula.
“Cultural Directors” includes Sridevi Pasupuleti, Srilu Veligeti and Taraka Deepti.

“Nominated Committee” Prasanth Chinta,Varun Mukka, & Hari Sannidi.

BATA “Advisory Board” Jayaram Komati, Vijaya Aasuri, Veeru Vuppala, Prasad Mangina, Karun Veligeti and Ramesh Konda congratulated the team in making the event a grand success.
