On 1/31/16, FLL Robotics Team # 18662, the Clarksville Diamond Tooth-ED Tigers, Clarksville, Howard County, Maryland – was selected to advance to the State Championship Competition. The highly competitive qualifiers were held on 1/31/2016 at the Girl Scout Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, with 13 robotics teams.

The CDTTigers were founded by CMS 7th Grader, Arjun Kanjarpane, who now serves as First Captain, the team Captain is Harshini Sadanala, 6th Grade, CMS, Riya Seth, Co-Captain and Tisha Patel, also 6th.

The CDTTigers have 12 team members, across 8 Howard County Schools, including:

Folly Quarter Middle - 6th Grader, Co-Captain Rishi Zarkar; Mountain View Middle - 6th Graders and Programming Leads Havish Netla, Aarnav Grover; West Friendship Elementary – 5th Grader, Rishith Anand Triadelphia Ridge Elementary – 4th Grader, Rugved Zarkar Clarksville Elementary – 5th Grader Priyanshi Patel, Clarksville Middle – 4, listed above, St. Louis Middle – 6th Grader, Javier Liceaga, Atholton High School – 11th Grader (Graduating, NHS Member), Lasya Tallapragada – Sr Mentor.

The CDTTigers have worked hard and achieved # 1 status in several categories:

Global Outreach: reaching India, France and Puerto Rico

Technology Outreach: reaching cross country, regional and international, via Skype

Regional Outreach: presenting robotics and STEM at area schools

Establishing a Board of Advisors (BOA) – including teachers, Directors from Board of Education, Columbia Association and County Council

Service to Underserved – operated a five day hands-on Science and Robotics class for
Lockerman Bundy Elementary School, Baltimore City and now, working to establish Jr. Fll and FLL teams in this and other schools in Baltimore City; serving Grass Roots, Columbia; and making medical kits for those affected by disasters in India.
