The Chicago Telugu Association (CTA) and North America Telugu Society (NATS) together has conducted one of the largest Volleyball tournament for Indian Community with more than 20 teams participating with 200 plus players in fun-filled summer day in Chicago. Tournament started at 10 AM and ended with final match at 7 PM in Darien Volleyball Grounds at Darien, IL. CTA/NATS tournament has received tremendous response from enthusiastic volleyball fans and players from all over Chicago. Twenty (20) teams and around 200 players have participated in this tournament and put a spectacular show of Volleyball.

The teams were divided into three groups Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D. Teams played are - Dronacharya Spikers, Jamadagni, X-Men, Agni Team, Suresh Team, Raptors Spike, Ranga Raju Team, Super 6, CTA Team, BG Bulls, Mani Team, Titans, Pavan Team, Harish Team, Rogue Bulls,Khaidi No 150, Musuru Team, Ball Busters, Jagath Team and Aurora Chargers Elite.

A morning rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the game; volunteers in great display of selfless volunteerism has dried the grounds just in time for the tournament. CTA Volleyball Organizing committee Madan Pamulapati, Pandu Chengalashetty, Rajesh Veedulamudi, Shailendra, Aravind, Nagendra Vege, Ramesh Maryala and team of volunteers including Naren Sharma, Arul Babu, Ranjith Ramachandra, Kiran Ambati, Hareesh Jammula, Venkat Thota, Vinoth Kannan, Venu Krishnanrdula, Vinoth Konchada, Ram Konchada, Yajnesh Venkatesan, Mani Natarajan, Ram Tunuguntla, Srinivas Pilla and Suman Koyyada welcomed the teams and players and explained the tournament rules and also CTA/NATS objectives.

Rangaraju Team won the championship in very hard fought finals defeating Ball Busters team. Player from Ball Busters Team, Ms. Selvi a lone women player played in this tournament has displayed outstanding performance and received a Most Notable Player appreciation for her extraordinary performance.

Each team played two games in the first round with some nail biting finishes and showing good sportsmanship and spirit of Volleyball. Rangaraju Team, Ball Busters, X-Men and Raptors Spike have emerged as the winners in the preliminary rounds moving to the semi-final around. First Semi final match was played between Rangaraju Team and X-Men, Rangaraju team won and moved to finals. Second Semi Final match was played between Ball Busters and Raptors Spike and Ball Busters won the closely contested match. In a match between X-Men and Raptors Spike for a third place, X-Men won the third place in a three game match.

The prize money for the winners, runners and semifinalists was sponsored by the key event sponsors EvolutYz.

CTA Sports Organizing Committee Madan Pamulapati, Rajesh Veedulamudi, Pandu and Subba Rao Putrevu thanked all the Umpires and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to provide an excellent service to the tournament. CTA President Nagendra Vege thanked the sponsors and organizing committee and players for successfully conducting the event CTA and NATS board of director Ravi Achanta highlighted the NATS activities and encouraged everyone to participate in the future CTA-NATS Chicago events and support the community activities. CTA executive committee members Ramesh Maryala, VaraPrasad Bodapati; Srinivas Boppana, Nagendra Vege; Murthy Koppaka and Rao Achanta also participated the event.

చికాగోలో భారతీయులను ఒక్కటి చేస్తున్న చికాగో తెలుగు సంఘం,సీటీఏ, ఉత్తర అమెరికా తెలుగు సంఘం నాట్స్ సంయుక్తంగా నిర్వహించిన వాలీబాల్ టోర్నమెంట్ కు విశేష స్పందన లభించింది. చికాగో ఇల్లినాయిస్ డారియన్ వాలీబాల్ గ్రౌండ్స్ లో జరిగిన ఈ వాలీబాల్ టోర్నమెంట్ లో 20 జట్లు పోటీపడ్డాయి. 200 మంది వాలీబాల్ ప్లేయర్లు ఈ టోర్నమెంట్ లో తమ ప్రతిభ చూపేందుకు పోటీపడ్డారు. వాలీబాల్ అభిమానులు కూడా ఆట చూసేందుకు భారీగా తరలివచ్చారు.

వాలీబాల్ టోర్నమెంట్ కోసం వచ్చిన వారిని ఎ,బి,సి,డి అనే నాలుగు గ్రూపులుగా విభజించడం జరిగింది. ఆ గ్రూపుల్లో 20 టీంలు ద్రోణాచార్య స్పైకర్స్, జమదగ్ని,ఎక్స్ మెన్, అగ్ని టీం, సురేష్ టీం, రాప్టర్స్ స్పైక్, రంగరాజు టీం, సూపర్ సిక్స్, సీటీఏ టీం, బీజీ బుల్స్, మనీ టీం, టైటన్, పవన్ టీం, హరీష్ టీం, రోగ్ బుల్స్, ఖైదీ నెంబర్ 150, ముసురు టీం, బాల్ బుస్టర్స్, జగత్ టీం, అరోరా చార్జర్స్ ఎలైట్ లు పోటీ పడ్డాయి. టోర్నమెంట్ ప్రారంభమైన ఉదయం కొద్దిగా వర్షం వచ్చిన ఆటగాళ్లలో ఉత్సాహం తగ్గలేదు. ఈ టోర్నమెంటు కోసం వాలంటీర్లు పట్టుదలతో చేసిన కృషి ఫలించింది.

ఈ టోర్నమెంటులో పాల్గొన్న ప్రతి జట్టు మొదటి రౌండులో రెండు ఆటలు ఆడింది. రంగరాజు టీం, బాల్ బుస్టర్స్, ఎక్స్ మెన్, రాప్టర్స్ స్పైక్, జట్లు ప్రాథమిక రౌండ్ల నుంచి ప్రతిభ చూపుతూ సెమీ ఫైనల్ కు చేరుకున్నాయి. తొలి సెమీ ఫైనల్ మ్యాచ్ రంగరాజు టీం, ఎక్స్ మెన్ టీం మధ్య జరిగింది. ఇందులో రంగరాజు టీం ఎక్స్ మెన్ టీంను ఓడించి ఫైనల్ కు చేరుకుంది. రెండవ సెమీ ఫైనల్ మ్యాచ్ లో బాల్ బుస్టర్స్, రాప్టర్స్ స్పైక్ పోటీపడ్డాయి. ఎంతో ఉత్కంఠగా జరిగిన ఈ మ్యాచ్ లో రాప్టర్స్ స్పైక్స్ ఓడిపోయింది. బాల్ బుస్టర్స్ గెలిచింది. ఎక్స్ మెన్, రాప్టర్స్ స్పైక్ ఈ టోర్నమెంట్ లో మూడవ స్థానంలో నిలిచాయి.

రంగరాజు టీం, బాల్ బుస్టర్స్ కు మధ్య జరిగిన ఫైనల్ ఫోటీలో చివరకు రంగరాజు టీం ఛాంపియన్ షిప్ గెలుచుకుంది. బాల్ బుస్టర్స్ టీంలో మహిళ ప్లేయర్ మిసెస్ సెల్వి అద్భుతమైన ఆట తీరు ప్రదర్శించింది. దీనిని గుర్తించిన సీటీఏ, నాట్స్, మోస్ట్ నోటబుల్ ప్లేయర్ అంటూ ఆమెను అభినందించింది. వాలీబాల్ టోర్నమెంట్ కు స్పాన్సర్ గా వ్యవహారించిన ఎవాలుటీజడ్ సంస్థ ప్రైజ్ మనీని విన్నర్స్, రన్నర్స్ కు, మూడవ స్థానంలో నిలిచిన వారికి కూడా అందించింది..

సీటీఏ వాలీబాల్ ఆర్గనైజింగ్ కమిటీ మదన్ పాములపాటి, పండు చెంగలశెట్టి, రాజేష్ వీడులముడి, శైలేంద్ర, అరవింద్, నాగేంద్ర వెగే, రమేష్ మర్యాల ఈ టోర్నమెంట్ విజయం కోసం ఎంతగానో శ్రమించారు. వీరితో పాటు వాలంటీర్లు నరేన్ శర్మ, అరుల్ బాబు, రంజిత్ రామచంద్ర, కిరణ్ అంబటి, హరీష్ జమ్ముల, వెంకట్ తోట, వినోద్ కన్నన్, వేణుకృష్ణార్దుల, వినోద్ కొనచాడ, యజ్నష్ వెంకటేషన్, మణి నటరాజన్, రామ్ తూనుగుంట్ల, శ్రీనివాస్ పిల్ల, సుమ కొయ్యడ ఇలా ఎందరో సీటీఏ, నాట్స్ వాలంటీర్లు తమ విలువైన సేవలు అందించారు.

సీటీఏ స్పోర్ట్స్ ఆర్గనైజింగ్ కమిటీ మదన్ పాములపాటి, రాజేష్ వీడులముడి, పాండు, సుబ్బారావు పుట్రేవు ఈ టోర్నమెంట్లో పనిచేసిన ఎంపైర్లకు, వాలంటీర్లకు ధన్యవాదాలు తెలిపారు. ఈ టోర్నమెంట్ ను ఇంత చక్కగా ప్లాన్ చేసి నిర్వహించినందుకు ఆర్గనైజింగ్ కమిటీని, ఆటగాళ్లను సీటీఏ ప్రెసిడెంట్ నాగేంద్ర వెగే అభినందించారు. నాట్స్ చేపడుతున్న కార్యక్రమాలు, క్రీడలకు నాట్స్ ఇస్తున్న మద్దతు గురించి సీటీఏ, నాట్స్ బోర్డ్ ఆఫ్ డైరక్టర్ రవి అచంట వివరించారు. యువతను ఉత్సాహాన్నిచ్చే మరిన్ని కార్యక్రమాలకు ఈ టోర్నమెంట్ ప్రోత్సాహాన్నించిదని ఆయన తెలిపారు. భవిష్యత్తులో సీటీఏ, నాట్స్ చేపట్టే కార్యక్రమాలకు కూడా ఇలాంటి మద్దతే ఇవ్వాలని యువతను కోరారు. సీటీఏ ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్ కమిటీ సభ్యులు రమేష్ మర్యాల, వర ప్రసాద్ బోడపాటి, శ్రీనివాస్ బొప్పన్న, నాగేంద్ర వేగే , మూర్తి కొప్పాక, రావు అచంట తదితరులు ఈ వాలీబాల్ టోర్నమెంట్ దిగ్విజయం కావడానికి తమ వంతు సహాయ సహకారాలు అందించారు.
