Telugu Association of Scotland (TAS) delighted to announce that we felicitated Santoshi Matsa, She is a Telugu weightlifter who won the silver medal in the women's 53 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. We have also Felicitated Indian Olympic association Manager MR Narayan and TAS presented the memento and shawl to Ms Santoshi Matsa and Narayan. Followed by grand dinner at Glasgow on 01-08-2014.

This event was went very successfully and welcome speech by Dr. Ashok Bhuvanagiri(Chairman).

TAS promised Ms Santoshi any weightlifting training/ coaching in Scotland, TAS happy to sponsor her logistics, Training and during her stay in Scotland, towards to improve her ability to win a gold medal in the upcoming Olympics event 2016 in Brazill.

Ms Santoshi garu felt very happy and excited, she got tears after hearing appreciation from TAS chairmen. She shared her experience and views how she got the medal and how difficulties she came through all the way to winning the medal. She also gave some information to the telugu Scottish kids who attended the felicitation and tips to the young telugu Scots kids how to become a sports person.

While giving welcome speech Dr Ashok Bhuvanagiri praised Ms Santoshi, he said many professionals like Doctors it may be easy to achieve goals but to become a Sports Person like Ms Santoshi which was very unique and requires a extreme determination, Dedication and lot of hard work.

MR Narayan shared his views and he is more delighted attending this felicitation. He said it was a great honor attending the event and he attended in many countries but never happened so this type of event.

Mrs Latha Bhuvanagiri (Wife of Dr Ashok Bhuvanagiri) felicitated shawl to Ms Santoshi and Dr Ashok Bhuvanagiri felicitated shawl to Mr Narayan.

TAS Sports Secretary Mrs Madhavilatha Danduri gave flower bouquet to Ms Santoshi and Mrs Sandhya Golkonda (Wife of Ramesh Golkonda) gave flower bouquet to Narayan.

TAS Ex chairmen Mr MLN Moorthy gave memento to Ms Santoshi and Dr Ashok Bhuvanagiri gave memento to Mr Narayan.

Vote of thanks given by Mr Ramesh Golkonda (Vice president of TAS). He said it was a very big day for telugu people, a women from rural place in Andhra Pradesh won a silver medal in Commonwealth games. He asked Ms Santoshi to give some tips to young kids.

Ms Santoshi Masta gave flower bouquet Mrs Latha Bhuvanagir for hosting the event and arrangements.

Furthermore this event was gone all the way with TAS executive members, Volunteers and families and kids.
