Soundarya - to expose or not to expose
- Jeevi

Soundarya has come a long way after signed by Shyam Prasad Reddy for his 'Ammoru'. She was best known for her cute roles in SV Krishna Reddy's film. As the films like 'Rajendrudu Gajendrudu', Mayalodu and Yamaleela turned out to be the blockbusters, the image of Soundarya skyrocketed. She got terrific appreciation from all the corners though she did not expose. She made a permanent dent into the hearts of Telugu cinema lovers in spite of being a kannadiga girl.

Her credentials as an actress proved with her fine performance in MS Arts 'Ammoru', which fetched her awards. She entered the big league with 'Top Hero', a film with Balayya and got settled as big actress with 'Hello Bother', a film with Nag. She did grab meaningful roles with broadminded Venky in 'Pavitra Bhandam' and 'Pelli Chesukundam'. She paired up with Chiru in a failure called 'Rikshavodu'.

The year 2000 truly belongs to this natural actress. She has given award-winning performances in films like postman, 9 nelalu and Ninne Premista. She is a changed actress too. She seems to have shed the tag - 'non-exposing-actress', with the film Annayya. In a particular song in that film, she has Chiru kissing on her naked navel. Later on her deliberate act of exposing continued in films like Moodu Mukkalata, Azaad and Jayam Manadera. After observing these films, one really wonders about what has prompted her to become a 'dare to bare' heroine. The same Soundarya has given scintillating performance in 'Ninne Premista' by epitomizing the 'padaharanala telugu pilla'.

It is rumored that Soundarya has graduated from a 'strict-no-to-exposing' to more diplomatic and convenient 'exposing-if-the-character-needs-it' after seeing Simran dazzling her way through Tollywood (Simran has a project each on floors with all the four top heroes on Tollywood', where as Soundarya was dropped from a couple of Balayya films after being signed in). Exposing or no exposing, with oodles of talent, Soundarya still remains as the reigning princess of Telugu cinema and a true heir of the yesteryears super star Savitri.
