Synopsis:
The story of the film is complicated. There are whites, blacks, Puerto Rican, Chinese, Persian, Mexican and many others in the film. LA is the backdrop of the film. The duration of events in the film is just two days. Crash is all about how these racially and economically diverse set of people crash into each other in unexpected ways.

What is unique in this film?
1. Bad vs. Good: There is a saying that there is no completely good person or bad person. They change into good or bad according to the situation. All the characters that are initially introduced in a positive light turn into negative by the time the movie ends. Similarly the characters introduced with negative shades turn positive in the climax. So there is sympathy for all the characters.

2. Screenplay:   The screenplay of the film is very complicated as all the characters are interlinked in some way or the other. Yet the director has made sure that there is no confusion. Every character is likeable and one can empathise why he behaves the way he does.

Threads I liked:
1. Invisible clock thread: Michael Pena narrates a story to his panic-stricken daughter about an invisible clock that is gifted by his mom to protect him against any bullet or knife injuries. At the end of the thread she is thrown into a situation where she believes that her invisible clock saved her father from a bullet.

2. Statuette thread: The brother of Don Cheadle carries a statuette throughout the film. He finally dies because of it.

Tailpiece:
Lots of people feel that Brokeback Mountain is a better film compared to the Academy award winner Crash. In my opinion Crash deserves the Academy award over Brokeback Mountain mainly for the human and sensitive way in which the racism angle has been handled.
