What is special in this film?
This film still makes you laugh with its screwball comedy though made 70 years ago. It is a clean comedy film from the depression era in America showing the real world at that time and showing the divide between the rich and the poor.
The scenes I liked
1. The opening credits scene where the names of the cast/crew glitters.
2. Scavenger hunt concept
3. The dialogue – “The only difference between a derelict and a man is a job”
4. The way Irene laughs uncontrollably.
5. Carlo mimicking a chimpanzee.
Tailpiece:
This film though nominated for seven Oscars, did not win any.
Inspiration:
Godfrey character in My Man Godfrey reminds us of NTR’s character in Gundamma Katha film.
