Synopsis:
French Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) is given the task of nabbing an international thief ‘la tornado’ who is on a spree stealing valuable possessions from all over the world. He heads the team of the best detectives from around the world (Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina and Yuki Matsuzaki) and an expert Sonia (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). The rest of the story is all about how Clouseau nabs the culprit. What I liked in the film?

What I liked in the film?
There are ample gags and mindless humor created by Steve Martin.

What I did not like in the film?
There is no proper screenplay in the film and commercial payoffs didn’t work at the end.

The scenes I liked?

1. Both the sequences of burning the restaurant in Rome.
2. Ninjas popping into the room whenever there is a security alert.
3. The antics of Clouseau which are shown in the surveillance monitors
4. The scene in which Clouseau tells his lady ‘You are like my brother’

Aishwarya factor:
Aishwarya Rai acted in a small yet vital role in this film. For those guys who are used to see her as heroine in Hindi films, it is little difficult to digest seeing her in a normal character role. She did well.

Tailpiece: I have not seen Pank Panther film done by Peter Sellers. But seen the first part of Pink Panther by Steve Martin. This film is entertaining if you don’t mind routine ending.
