Yarlagadda
Rama Krishna Prasad, the man behind Saradhi studios, was expired
on 29th of May in Bangalore. He was 82 years old at that time. He
acted as the managing director for Saradhi Films and produced Telugu
movies since 1938. Challapalli Raja and Gudavalli Rama Brahmam were
also business partners of Saradhi films.
He
produced films like Griha Pravesam, Rojulu
Marayi and Kula Daivam in the direction of LV Prasad,
Tapi Chanakya and Kabis Das respectively. Incidentally, all these
three films are début ventures for the above-mentioned directors.
He did also introduce actress Waheeda Rehman and singer Master Venu
to Telugu cinema. He also produced films like Atma Bandhuvu,
Kalasi Vunte Kaladu Sukham, Anta Manavaalle, Peddarikaalu, Bhagya
Devata, Kunkuma Rekha etc. He produced lots of films on Navayuga
banner in association with Katragadda Srinivasa Rao.
He
is the initiator of Telugu film industry in Hyderabad. With an intention
of moving the Telugu film Industry from Madras to Hyderabad, he
bought 11 and half acres of land in Hyderabad (it is situated apposite
STPH, Mytrivanam in Hyderabad) and constructed the Saradhi studios.
He acted as Managing director and Chairman of the studios. He took
the technical inputs of famous cinematographer and technician CVVR
Prasad in constructing Saradhi Studios.
