The venue was Ramanaidu Studios, Nanakramaguda, a city suburb.
On entering the famed location for picturising village sequences,
everything seemed calm with no activity going on inside. For
a moment, there was a doubt about the location for the shooting
of Super Good Films' latest venture, Sivaramaraju. A few steps
onwards the right pushed aside all doubts. Right in front
was the set of a palatial house with a name board, 'Ayodhya.'
Some activity was visible; mostly the light boys to the lead
technicians and artistes, all immersed in their respective
are of work. The shot was okayed by director Samudra.
The house, named Sravanthi House looked every inch aristocratic.
Inside the spacious hall, on one corner, there was teak puja
mandir and on its left, a specially carved north Indian type
jhoola was placed. The furniture looked expensive. The staircase
was majestic.
The executive producer Vakada Apparao was talking to his production
team. Monica who plays the sister sat at the dining table,
waiting for a call from the director who was busy discussing
the next scene to be shot on the lead artistes Jagapathi Babu,
Venkat, Sivaji (they play the brothers), Poonam, one of the
heroines and Monica. Brahmanandam and L.B. Sriram were there
too, interacting with the guests and unit members.
Jagapahi Babu who was sitting at the dining table area, walked
towards some producers who came to discuss a project with
him.
It is a strange after the runway hit, Hanuman Junction he
has not signed a movie till this offer from ace producer R.B.
Chowadary came his way.
He explains that he voluntarily took a break for six months
and was never more serious about his career. He was being
choosy about his roles. Now he is back with a power-packed
title role. He plays Sivaramaraju, the responsible elder brother.
In the movie, the house belongs to the villain in the story
(Tamil producer and actor 'Pyramid' Natarajan, who is making
his debut in Telugu with this role), informs Vakada Apparao,
known for his perfect planning and execution. The entire activity
shifts towards the entrance, which is the 'field'. L.B. Sriram,
Monica, Jagapathi Babu and Poonam, Sivaji and Brahmanandam,
in that order, stand in a row and behind them is seen Venkat.
With garlands around their necks, Jagapahti Babu and Poonam
play the just-married couple.
The marriage takes place at the entrance to the villain's
house. "Why they marry like this is the key factor to
the theme," smiles Apparao.
Harikrishna plays the other powerful and pivotal role and
he enters in the next schedule at Pollachi. Laya is cast opposite
Venkat and they are on the lookout for a teenager to play
the heroine opposite Sivaji. "We will be finalizing her
in a couple of days." The director keenly watches while
the artistes perform and the camera rolls on to produce one
more blockbuster to satiate the diehard fans of commercial
potboilers.
