NT Rathna as Bhadradi Ramudu
Nandamuri Taraka Rathna is going to act in the direction of 'master of flashbacks' Suresh Krishna soon. This film is tentatively titled as 'Bhadradi Ramudu'. Maganti Gopinath is going to produce this film. The script work is getting finalized now. This film would go to floors in the month of August. Magaadu - the latest offing from NT Rathnaa is ready for the release now.

N4 audio on 8th August
The audio of Suresh Productions 'Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu' (photos here) is expected to release in on 8th August 2003. RP Patnaik scored the music for this film. Uday Kiran and Shriya are playing main leads. This film is expected to release either in the last week of August or the 1st week of September 2003.

'Back pocket' completes talkie part
Navata innovatives banner's maiden venture is titled as 'Back Pocket'. This film has Vijay (of Ammailu, Abbailu fame) and Sony Raj in the main leads. Sony Raj is playing the role of a singer in this back pocket. Suman is also playing an important role in this film. 'Back Pocket' is a comedy thriller, as per the director Sridhar Beechiraju. Shooting of this film was started on 27th June 2003. Talkie part and 4 songs have been shot so far. This film is expected to release in the fist week of September 2003. Bhargava produces this film. Joopudi provides music.

29th July

ANR as Oke Okkadu
Nata Samrat Akkineni Nageswara Rao would be playing a duel role in a mega serial titled 'Oke Okkadu' that is going to be produced and directed by Kadambari Kiran Kumar. Shooting of this serial commences from 1st August 2003 onwards. MAA Has bought rights to telecast this mega serial. Vandemataram Srinivas provides music.

Sambaram inspired by Dasarath's real life incident
Dasarath - who established as a solid moviemaker with the film 'Santosham' - has directed his second venture Sambaram with Nitin and Nikita in the lead pair. This film got censored recently and obtained an U certificate. The censor board members appreciated this film for the entertainment it offers. A real life incident about the relationship between a girl and a boy Dasaradh knows forms the basis of story for this film. Dasaradh said that if Santosham had more of family values and less of love drama, this film offers more love quotient. This film is opening in AP on 31st of July in AP and on 1st of August in USA.

70 lakhs spent on the music of Seetayya
YVS Chowdary is one director who knows what he is doing and how to extract the right kind of the work from the right people. He knows the importance of music in his films and does not hesitate to spend as much money for the better quality in terms of music. Generally the music budget for any film would range from 20 lakhs to 50 lakhs depending on the budget and starcast of the film. This budget includes things like remuneration to music directors, lyricists, singers and rents for the recording theaters and music sitting places. But for Seetayya film, the director-producer YVS Chowdary went a step ahead and spent around 70 lakhs to get the maximum output. Keeravani scored the music. For a few train action sequences canned on Hari Krishna and fighters, YVS Chowdary is said to have spent 65 lakhs. Seetayya also boasts of huge star cast that includes 50 known faces. This film is expected to release on 14th of August 2003.

VN Aditya gets engaged
VN Aditya - who has directed 'Manasantha Nuvve' and Sriram' in the past and who is going to direct Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna in the coming months - got engaged to his distant relative in Dilshuknagar, Hyderabad last week. His marriage would be taking place on 31st of October 2003. In an interview given to idlebrain.com in the past, director VN Aditya mentioned that he wound not marry till he directs a Chiranjeevi's film. Now he got engaged because, Anjana Productions has officially held the muhurat shot of Chiranjeevi's film in the direction of VN Aditya recently. VN Aditya's film with Nagarjuna as hero would go to floors from 1st of August onwards. VN Aditya's film with Chiranjeevi, which is going to be a remake of Malayalam comedy entertainer Mr. Brahmachari, would start once Chiranjeevi's Tagore is released.

Chiranjeevi shoots songs in Ooty
Chiranjeevi is currently shooting in Ooty for a song of Tagore in the choreography of Lawrence. The ooty schedule was started on 26th of this month. Shooting of the first song would be completed by 30th July. The unit would shoot the remaining songs in the month of August. This film is expected to release either in the 1st week or 2nd week of September 2003. Chiranjeevi would be going to USA/UK in the month of August end/September beginning once The Tagore work is over. Anjana banner's film in the direction of VN Aditya would start once Chiranjeevi returns from USA.

Dasari to direct Hari Krishna
Devi Vara Prasad who produced films with only NTR and Chiranjeevi so far is going to produce a film on his 'Devi Films Banner' with Hari Krishna as solo hero soon in the direction of Dasari Narayana Rao. This film would have the backdrop of patriotism and sentiment. This film would go to floors once Hari Krishna's 'Tiger Harischandra Prasad' is completed. Posani Krishna Murali provides story. Lyricist Jaalaadi is going pen few powerful songs for this film. Devi Vara Prasad's daughter Devi Aiswarya has recently announced a film with Srikanth as hero.

Variety publicity for N4
The creative team at Suresh Productions has designed a variety publicity package for their forth coming film 'Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu' (N4) starring Uday Kiran and Shriya. The first poster that's going to be released include just a message saying that 'this space is reserved for Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu starring Uday Kiran, Shriya, Krishnamraju and Sujatha'. These posters would not have any photos of any cast or crewmembers. These posters would be splashed on all the ad spots hired by Suresh Movie Distributors all over Andhra Pradesh. This campaign is being undertaken to create a curiosity factor among the Telugu movie lovers towards this film.

Tarun stays back in Germany for NMNK
Hero Tarun has stayed back in Germany after completing the latest schedule of Sravanthi Ravi Kishore film in the direction of Ramana. He has caught up with the team of 'Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu' with Trisha as heroine to participate in the songs shooting. AM Ratnam produces this film and his son Jyothi Krishna makes his directorial debut through this film.

ANR is safe and sound
Thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao had suffered a mild uneasiness in the morning of yesterday (22nd July 2003). A family member of Akkineni informed idlebrain.com that they admitted ANR in CARE hospital under the supervision of Dr. Soma Raju. This is done as a precautionary measure by taking into the consideration of ANR's age and his history of cardiac problems. ANR is safe and sound now. He would be most probably discharged from the hospital by tomorrow (24th July) evening.

World's largest 3D IMAX screen in Hyderabad
Prasad Media Corporation that is formed by Sai Prasad (Grandson of legend LV Prasad) has constructed the world's largest 3D IMAX screen in Hyd. This IMAX multiplex in Hyderabad that spreads across a sprawling 2,35,000 sq ft with a seating capacity of 360 is located near Tank Bund. This IMAX multiplex would be opened for public on 25th of July. The first IMAX film to be screened on this screen would be 'Everest' followed by 'Blue Planet'. The tickets for the general viewing are priced at Rs. 120/- per head. This multiplex comprises of 5 screens, out of which one is meant for private parties to celebrate occasions like birthdays. These screens would open with the films Terminator - 3 and Darna Mana Hain on 25th of this month. This multiplexes would also sport restaurants and shopping malls. The 3D IMAX films would be screened from October 2003 onwards.

Deal with Namitha's beau
Namitha - the latest sexy siren of Tollywood, who is mesmerizing the Telugu audiences with her looks - is recently signed up for a Telugu suspense thriller titled Deal to be directed by a debutant Habeeb Naseer. Namitha's real life boy friend Steven Kapoor would be playing reel-life hubby to Namitha in this film. The director Habeeb Naseer had earlier worked as an assistant to Bollywood director Satish Kaushik. Prakash Raj and Mohit (of Aithe & Ammailu Abbailu fame) would be playing other vital roles in this film.

Chandra Sekhar to direct Sriram
Chandra Sekhar Yeleti of Aithe fame would be directing his next for film financier KLN Raju's banner. Sriram (of Rojapoolu fame) has been signed up as the hero. Script is finalized. This film would go to floors very soon. Chandra Sekhar would also be directing Prabhas very soon. Gopal Reddy of Bhargav arts banner would produce this film.

Yana Gupta as Malliswari
Yana Gupta - a famous model from Mumbai (extremely popular for her Lakme ad) - is selected to play the most coveted princess role in Suresh Productions latest film Malliswari starring Venkatesh as hero. K Vijaya Bhaskar - who delivered continuous blockbusters in the form of Swayamvaram, Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naaku Nachchav and Manmadhudu - is directing this film. Trivikram is writing dialogues and story. The muhurat of this film was held on 9th of July. Regular shooting of this film would start on 2nd of August in Vizag and later the unit would shift to Hyderabad. The unit would move to abroad for the next leg of shooting. D Suresh Babu produces this film on Suresh Productions banner. Two songs of this film have been recorded so far by Koti.

Chiranjeevi adapts a bright student
In another magnanimous gesture, Chiranjeevi has adopted a bright girl student and taken the onus of bearing all the expenses incurred on her to whatever level she wants to study. Chiranjeevi saw an article about Radha, a meritorious student belonging to Miryalaguda who also selected for National level science fare in which her model 'Solar Boat' was exhibited, in Andhra Jyoti news paper. Chiranjeevi has made her join 'Bhashyam Residential School' for her 10th class. Its not new for Chiranjeevi to do such kind of charitable works. In the past too he helped financially poor students at various levels.

NTR in Vyjayanthi banner
NTR - who did Student No.1 for Aswini Dutt on Swapna Cinema banner - is going to act in Vyjayatnthi banner very soon. This film is going to be directed by K Raghavendra Rao. This film would go to floors in the next year. Asiwni Dutt's next film on Vyjayanthi banner is going to star Venkatesh. Chinni Krishna provides story. Pawan Kalyan in Bangalore
Pawan Kalyan is in Bangalore currently along with the director to scout for the locations of Anjana Productions film. This film is expected to start it's shooting in Kulu Manali on 20th of July as per the earlier reports. But the incessant rains in Kulu Manali has forced the team to look for an alternative place (preferably a hill station). The Kulumanali location might be altered to any Hill Station in the South India. Sadaf is playing heroine in this film directed by Veera Shankar. Naga Babu produces this film on Anjana banner. RP Patnaik provides music.

Tagore's audio sold for 1.05 crores
Audio of Chiranjeevi's latest film Tagore is grabbed by Aditya music for an amount of Rs. 1.05 crores. Mani Sharma provided music for this film. Audio is expected to be released in the first week of August 2003. VV Vinayak directed this film that is being produced by Oscar films.

Bhumika's special appearance in AAT
Bhumiak Chawla is making a special appearance in EVV Satyanarayana directed film 'Aadante Ado Type' that stars Aryan Rajesh, Sivaji, Anitha and Sindhu Menon in the main leads. Yavan Shankar Raja provided music. Songs of this film were pictured in Egypt recently. This film is expected to release on 2nd August 2003. Ambika Krishna is producing this film.

Laya plays Balayya's wife
Heroine Laya would be playing the wife of hero Bala Krishna in Konda Krishnam Raju's film that is being played by Swarna Subba Rao. Sangeeta is also playing one of the heroines in this film. The third heroine is not selected for this film so far.

Smita's USA tour
After a power packed performance on 4th of July at the 25th conference of TANA in San Jose, Pop star Smita has been invited to perform at Los Angeles on the 11th of July, Austin on 19th of July and Houston on the 20th of July 2003. Smita will be returning to USA to perform for The Indian Medical Association on the 15th of November at Chicago.

Raju to produce a Vikraman's remake
Producer Raju - who delivered the blockbuster Dil - is going to produce another film soon. This film is going to be a remake of Vikraman's Tamil film titled 'Unnai Ninaithu'. This film is going to be a triangular love story. Telugu version of this film would have a youth hero (Nitin?) and would be directed by a hit director (SS Rajamouli?)

2 more films announced for Ravi Teja
It's announcement time for Ravi Teja's projects. After Anjana Productions and SV Cellulloids announced a film each in the combination of Ravi Teja and Puri Jagan. Supergood banner also announced another film with Ravi Teja. Creative director Vamsi also announced another project which would be produced and directed by Vamsi with Ravi Teja as hero. According to the unconfirmed reports, Chanti Addala has signed SS Raja Mouli as the director for a film to be produced with Ravi Teja as hero.

Brahmanandam as Sachin Tendulkar
The 2nd silent movie that is being made in India is recently titled as 'Kithakithalu'. Aditya Om is directing this silent film that stars Aditya Om, Nandana Sen, Naresh and Brahmanandam. In this film, Naresh is playing the role of comedy oriented hi-tech criminal. Brahmanandam is playing the role of an aspiring cricketer who thinks that he is of Sachin Tendulklar's caliber. His get up is also modified to suit the looks of Sachin Tendulkar. Monty (who gave background music for Devdas) is providing background music for this film. This film is going to be released in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.

Ramya Krishna in Naani
Ramya Krishna is playing a special role in Mahesh Babu's latest film 'Naani' under the direction of SJ Suryah. As per the unconfirmed reports, Ramya Krishna is playing the role of married women who gets bitten by the '7 year itch' and tries for cute looking Mahesh Babu in this film. She also has a song with Mahesh Babu in this film. AR Rehman is providing 8 songs for this film. Amisha Patel plays the heroine. Devyani plays the mother of Mahesh Babu. This film would be ready for the release in the month of Sept/Oct 2003.

Prakash Raj in Tamil's Aithe
Prakash Raj is going to remake Telugu hit films 'Kabaddi Kabaddi' and 'Aithe' in Tamil language. Incidentally Prakash Raj as also would be acting in Tamil version of 'Aithe'. He would be acting the role of villain, which was played by Pavan Malhotra in Telugu version. Prabhu Deva would be acting as hero in Tamil version of 'Kabaddi Kabaddi'.

There would be 13 action episodes in YVS Chowdary's latest film in offing 'Seetayya'. Hari Krishna is playing the solo hero for the first time in his career with this film. Venky to work with Puri and Teja
Venkatesh has announced the details of his future films today evening while speaking to the press. He said that 'Malliswari' (Vijaya Bhaskar - Suresh Productions) would go to floors in the month of July 2003. His film with EVV Satyanarayana (Siva Raju and Venkatraju) would go to floors in the month of August. His film with Burugapally Sivarama Krishna in the direction of Puri Jagan would go to floors in the month of December. His film in the direction of Teja also would go to floors in the month of December.

Ravi Teja in Supergood banner
Hero Ravi Teja is becoming the hottest hero day by day. Now he has signed a film with the most successful banner 'Supergood Films'. Rajendra - who worked as an assistant to director Samudra - would be directing this venture. This film would go to floors in the month of January 2004.

Katrina Kaif replaced
Suresh Productions has replaced Katrina Kaif as heroine for their Malliswari project in the direction of K Vijaya Bhaskar. The reasons for the same are not available. Director Vijaya Bhaskar is in Mumbai today (8th July) to scout for fresh faces for the princess character in Malliswari film. The muhurat of this film would be held on 9th of July 2003 as decided earlier. Trivikram provides story and dialogues for Malliswari.

Ravi Teja replaced Uday Kiran
Ravi Teja replaced Uday Kiran in Anjana productions banner film in the direction of Puri Jagannath. Puri Jagan has given three continuous hit films with Ravi Teja in the film of 'Itlu Sravani Subramanyam', 'Idiot' and 'Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai'. Script work is currently going on. Earlier Anjana banner announced a film with the combination of Puri jagan and Uday Kiran. Looks like Uday Kiran is replaced by Ravi Teja now.

6th July

Venky's Vasantham on 11th July
Venky and his team have returned from Austria after picturizing a song on Venky, Kalyani and Arti Agarwal. This film would go for censoring on 8th of this month. The release date for this film is confirmed as 11th July 2003. Vasantham would be releasing in Sudarshan 35mm in Hyderabad.

5th July

Krishna in KSR Das's film
KSR Das has directed severals films with Krishna the most popular film 'Mosagallaku Mosagadu' in the illustrious career of Superstar Krishna. KSR is directing Alibaba - 5 dongalu as his 100th directorial venture. Superstar Krishna has agreed to do a guest role in this film. Bhanu Chandar, Ram, Lakshman, Nepolian and Sri Charan would be playing 5 thieves in this film. This film is all about 5 thieves who save the country from an imminent trouble. Sri is providing music for this film.

4th July

Srikanth's noble gesture
Hero Srikanth responded to an advertisement in Vaartha Newpaper about 3 sisters from Tenali who are unable to continue their studies because of poverty. The two elder sisters (Lakshi Sailaja and Lakshmi Padmaja) are doing their studies in engineering courses. The youngest sister Lakshmi Saroja got 10th rank in intermediate by procuring 975 marks out of 1000. She also got admission for Computer Science course in BITS Pilani. Srikanth and his friends pooled 2.2 lakhs and gave the money to three sisters on the evening of 4th July 2003. Hero Srikanth said that he is inspired by NTR who donated 5 lakhs to a medical student and also by Chiranjeevi who continue doing social service. Srikanth said that he comes from the middle class family and hence knows the value of money and the kind of problems lack of money creates. VVS Laxman in Vasantham
VVS Laxman - the popular national cricketer - has done a guest role in Venkatesh's latest film in offing - Vasantham. Laxman has played the role of cricket coach to Venkatesh in this film. In the Tamil version of the same film - which is going to released simultaneously - ex-cricketing opener Srikanth played the role of coach to the hero Madhavan. Vikraman directs this film. Arti Agarwal and Kalyani are paired up with Venkatesh in Vasantham. This film is slated for the release soon.

Kalyan Ram sets unique record
Kalyan Ram has become the first hero to shoot just for songs in abroad for Usha Kiron movies. Usha Kiron movies that has successfully made several films so far has never gone to abroad for any shoot. But for Vijayostu - the debut film of Kalyan Ram (son of Nandamuri Hari Krishna) - Usha Kiron unit would be traveling to Switzerland. Rockline movies also going to Swiss to can another couple of songs for their film with Kalyan Ram. Shooting of songs for these two films are clubbed together. It is learnt that Usha Kiron Movies and Vyjayanthi movies would share the expenses incurred for the entire foreign jaunt.

Simhadri confirmed on 9th July
First copy of NTR's Simhadri is out a couple of days back. It is going for censoring today. The release date of this film is confirmed as 9th July - which falls on odd day of Wednesday. This film is releasing with a large number of prints. More details later.

3rd July

Talkie of Mahesh Babu's Naani completed
The talkie part of Naani - Mahesh Babu's latest film in the direction of SJ Suryah - is completed. This film would have 8 tunes scored by AR Rehman. Rehman has already composed 4 tunes for this film. Amisha Patel is cast apposite Mahesh Babu. Manjula (of Show fame) is producing this film on Indira Creations banner. Actress Devyani is playing the role of hero's mother in this film. Naani is expected to hit the marquee for the season of Dussera. This film is simultaneously being made as 'New' with Suryah and Simran as lead pair in Tamil.

Dasari Arun plays brother to Hari Krishna
Dasari Arun Kumar is playing the younger brother of Nandamuri Hari Krishna in 'Tiger Harischandra Prasad', which is being directed by V Samudra. Hari Krishna plays the role of self-motivated farmer of a village. Arun is playing the role of a student studying in a city. Ramya Krishna is paired up with Hari Krishna in this film. P Naga Lakshmi who produced NTR's Aadi is producing this film on Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions banner. Story and screenplay is provided by Posani Krishna Murali. Kalyan Ram's new film starts on 10th July
Rockline Venkatesh who produced Kannada blockbuster 'Abhi' is remaking the same film in Telugu with Kalyan Ram and Ramya (who also acted in Abhi) in the main leads. Aswini Dutt of Vyjayanthi banner would present this film. Malli, who worked with Krishna Vamsi earlier, would make his debut as director with this film. Shooting of this film would start on 10th of July with canning a couple of songs in Switzerland. Kalyan Ram's debut film 'Vijayostu' by Usha Kiron Movies banner is expected to release in the month of August 2003.

Uday Kiran - Sushmita's marriage called off
The marriage of Uday Kiran with the daughter of Chiranjeevi is officially called off today. In a press note sent to daily newspapers, they attributed the reasons for the calling off the marriage to incompatibility issue between the pair. This pair was engaged on 18th April 2003. However, they mentioned that good will gestures would continue from the both families towards others.

It is known that Sri Chiranjeevi garu's eldest daughter Sushmita and film star Uday Kiran were engaged recently. However, due to the lack of compatibility between Sushmita and Uday Kiran and the variations between their hopes and aspirations for future, both families unanimously agreed that it is in the best interest of both of them to call off the proposed wedding.

Sri Chiranjeevi told the press that despite the decision to cancel the proposed marriage the goodwill shared by both families remains unaffected.

Uday Kiran gets pally with press
Uday Kiran seems to have become a changed man in past few days. He is taking every opportunity to get friendly with the costars and friends. In a unique gesture, he threw a party for the press at Taj Banjara today (1st July) and donated Rs. 1 lakh towards Film Critics Union. He repeatedly (4 to 5 times) said that it was the media, which helped him to reach the position what he is in today and hence requested the media to help him in the future also. Incidentally, he is the second person in the history of Telugu cinema to voluntarily donate for Film Critics Union. In the past, actress Vani Sri has donated Rs 50,000/- voluntarily. The other donations for union have come when the journalists approached celebrities and asked for it. In another gesture, Uday Kiran has refered to actor Mahesh Babu as brother in Boys function yesterday (30th June 2003). When Mahesh Babu gave the first audiocassette of Boys to Uday Kiran, the people asked him to buy it for Rs 101. But he said that Mahesh and himself are brothers and a part of the family. Hence no money transaction! Uday, what's cooking up?

AP corporate companies into film production
In the month of April, Pratyusha Group announced their entry into Telugu film industry. Now we have two more AP corporate companies trying to enter filmmaking. One among them is LANCO group. Lagadapati Raja Gopal, the man of LANCO group, would be producing a film soon in the direction of Neelakanta, who won national award for his film 'Show'. It is also heard that Raasi group is also contemplating on the plan to enter film production.

ANOTA dialogue cassette
Those were the golden days, where the dialogues of the film used to be as popular as the songs. Audio makers used to release dialogues cassettes for all most all popular hit films. This tradition is brought back to present times with the 'Aithe' film. Now Puri Jagan is going to release the dialogue cassette of ANOTA (Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai) film today. This audiocassette is expected to hit the stores on 2nd July 2003. The total credit of this goes to the excellent dialogue delivery of Ravi Teja, good dialogues by Kona Venkat and aggressive characterization by Puri Jagan.

Digital background colors for Varsham
Sekhar V Joseph has experimented with the digital background colors for a couple of scenes that lasts for a couple of minutes in Okkadu film. Now, MS Raju is planning to use the same technology for his forthcoming film 'Varsham' with Prabhas and Trisha in the main leads. This film would be having 30 minutes duration of digital background colors. The 'rain' plays an important role in the story of this film. Popular villains Prakash Raj, Gopi Chand and Shafi (Khadgam fame) are playing important roles in this film. Regular shooting of this film was started on 27th of June. This film is expected to be releasedon 15th January 2003.

Soundarya slims down
It's a popular observation that girls become obese when they get married due to lots of reasons. But contrary to the popular aging phenomenon, heroine Soundarya became ultra-slim after marriage. She has become the cynosure of the opening of the film trilingual film (Telugu, Tamil and Kannada) 'Swethanagu' in which she plays the main lead. Story of this film is based on Lalladevi's novel 'Swethanagu'. Abbas also plays an important role in this film.
