Biography:
Venky, son of
the Movie Moghul Dr Ramanaidu, needs no introduction. Venky's foray
into films is an act of accident. Kaliyuga Pandavulu(1986),
his debutante film, made a splash at the box office. Films like
Swarna Kamalam(1988) and Prema(1989) showcased his
acting prowess in soft roles. His break as a full-fledged mass hero
came with Bobbili Raja(1990), a run away super hit. His role
as 'Chandu' in Kshnakshnam(1991) is a treat to watch
for the film lovers. His total outlook changed with the blockbuster
Chanti(1991) that rewrote the annals of Telugu Cinema box-office.
His portrayal as a lovely lecturer in 'Sundara Kanda'(1992)
is amazing.
Fueled
by the success of Chanti(1992), Venky tested the waters of
Hindi with 'Anari' that turned out to be instant hit. Pavitra
Bandham(1996), a film with a matured storyline was well received
by people. It was the year 1997 that changed the fortune of Venky
in the numbering system. With Preminchukundam Raa(1997) he
started his marathon at Box-office followed by five films. The year
2000 will remain as one of the sweetest years for Venky as he gave
another two blockbusters in the form of Kalisundam Raa and
Jayam Manaderaa! The year 2002 has witnessed another silent
super success in the form of Nuvvu Naaku Nachav.
Venky
is remembered as a hero who added a new dimension to the thinking
process and the mind set of Telugu film industry. To his credit,
he introduced three directors (Jayant, Tirupathi Swamy and Udaya
Shankar). Venky is the top runner in holding many number of Nandi
awards in the present generation.
