Review

tell a friend

Story

Raju (Kalyan Ram Nandamuri) is a lovable boy-next-door in holy town Simhachalam. He falls in love with a girl Bhanu (Akanksha) - who comes to visit Simhachalam Temple - at first sight. After a few misunderstandings, Bhanu realizes the great qualities in Raju. Then there is a catch. Srikar Prasad (Suman) - the father of Bhanu - has already given a word to his friend that he would get his daughter married to the son of his friend. The rest of the story is all about how Raju convinces Srikar Prasad to agree to their marriage.

Artists Performance

Kalyan Ram Nandamuri: Kalyan Ram looks good with his typical boy-next-door looks. For a debutant, his performance is impressive. He has got flexibility in his body and histrionics. He can dance well and perform risky stunts. He would establish as a good hero if he can choose apt scripts for his future projects.

Others: The heroine Akanksha looks OK. But her histrionics are good. She emoted well in emotional scenes. Urvasi Sarada acted in a film after a gap of few years. She played the role of supporting grandmother to heroine. Suman did the role of heroine's father. Suman dubbed his voice for the first time in a Telugu film. It was a good effort. But, he need to modulate his voice better and should utter the dialogues more proficiently. Sunil's comedy is good. Brahmananam and MS Narayana are OK. Charan Raj is seen on Telugu screen after a long time. He did well as the villain. Sudeepa is good as hero's sister.

Technical Departments:

Screenplay - direction: Story by Kasi Viswanath has the ingradients of typical love story of a young couple that seeks the permission of parents before getting married. Kasi Viswanath strength is comedy and he made sure that the timing is good whenever comedy scenes were there in the film. His direction of the film is OK. The screenplay is average.

Music: Music by Chakri is impressive. The first and last songs (both are mass songs) got good response from the front benchers. Other songs are pleasant melodies.

Other departments: Dialogues of Paruchuri have wide ranged flavor in them. There are mass dialogues as well as some sensible comedy ones. Photography by Sekhar V Joseph is good. There are few jumps in the editing of the film in a couple of scenes.

Analysis: First half of the film is average and second half is better. The strengths of the film are music and comedy. Usha Kiron Movies has launched Kalyan Ram Nandamuri as hero with this film and he proves himself as a promising artist. Now its up to Kalyan Ram to take his career forward with right kind of subjects. You may watch this film at your leisure.
