Gudipoodi Srihari Review

It has been proved time and again that a full length comedy sans sensible storyline leads nowhere, as is the case with Aaduthoo.. Paaduthoo…, the characters almost border on foolishness to elicit humor. The second part of the story is needlessly linked to the politics in a neighboring State.

The heroine, Gayatri, is the daughter of a politician, Arunachalam, who aspires to become chief minister. To avoid the marriage forced on her, she runs away from home and mingles with the Lambdas. She calls herself Vasanti and gets into the bus owned by the hero, Gopi (Srikanth).

Son of a well-known thespian, Gopi is quite possessive about the bus since he inherits it from his late father and cherishes it more-than-his-own-life. One of his father's admires (played by Tanikella Bharani) sanctions Gopi a loan to run mobile restaurant in his bus with the help of his friend Papi (Sunil). However, Papi's character sits heavily on the subject and audience as well.

Gopi discovers Gayatri, when the latter dozes off in his bus. To make Gopi and Papi believe that she is a tribal, she speaks gibberish. Soon, Gopi and Gayatri fall in love with each other. She also reveals her true identity as the daughter of Arunachalam, born to his second wife. As minister disclaims them, Gaytri is out to prove to the world and also make him accept that she is his own daughter.

Two more comedians, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam who plays a sub-inspector and M.S. Narayana as the cook hired by Gopi, accentuate the impact of humor. The story scales, of lengths of Andhara Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Orissa.

But for Srikanth and Gayatri, none makes his or her presence felt - more because of bad script. But for an occasional dialogue, wit and situational humor, the narrative element becomes stale and monotonous as it progresses. The last part provides base for some artificial action drama, pitting Srikanth against the henchmen of the politician. Music and dialogue do not impress much.
