Mammootti plays the title role of an honest police officer
and the villain of the piece is Finance Minister. Gudisela
Pochayya. The film opens with the verbal clash between these
two, when people demand an apology from minister for his remarks
against women. The minister obliges but nurtures a grudge,
and asks the Chief Minister to suspend the police commissioner.
However, CM refuses to oblige even when Pochayya threatens
to turn against him along with his followers.
Rudrama
Naidu is burdened with a sad past. The armed gangs murder
his wife and son. Now Rudrama Naidu lives with his daughter
and his wife's younger sister, Radha. He also runs orphanages
for abandoned children. Meena, daughter of the state Chief
Minister falls in love with him.
Rudrama
Naidu becomes an obstacle to the villainous activities of
Pochayya. At the end, he succeeds in busting the criminal
activities and exposing some of his senior officers as well.
The
fight scenes, composed by Kanal Kannan, are interesting. Editor
Narasimha Rao and cameraman Sanjeevi Shankar did their jobs
well.
Mammootti
and Meen are the only two familier faces in this Telugu dubbing
of Malayalam hit movie. Among the rest, Dilip, Manya, Sukumari,
Kavya and Madhavan have important roles. The film attracts
action drama lovers with a taste for police stories. Background
music support is interesting. While, Meena's role is ornamental,
Mammootti remains the star attraction throughout the film.
The dubbing of the film is satisfying.
