Gudipoodi Srihari Review

The film falls in the genre of youth films now in vogue, with weird themes revolving around inconse quential interpretations of love. A major part of the film depicts the usual pranks. One Chanti (Rohit) and his lover Anu (Anu) remain passive in the first half of the film. They just stare at each other in admiration. And rarely react sensibly. Ali, one of Chanti's friends, takes charge of the drama. He contributes the humour element. It is his character that says : "We are students, we can go to any length to unite the lovers." This is, in short, the subject of the film.

The film opens with Chanti losing his gold chain. It goes into the hands of Anu (Anu) and that paves the way for Chanti to get friendly with her. Her father, Maj. Chandrakanth (Giribabu), is an absent-minded old man. Anu's dog is captured by the municipal dog-squad and this becomes a chance for Rohit to find the dog and win her heart. He is successful.

Time for the first twist. Dr.Surya (Ahuti Prasad), a medical doctor, returns after serving a term, for murdering his wife. His daughter grows up under his brother. Anu is unaware of her real father. A flashback reveals why and how Dr. Surya killed his wife, Rajani.

Rajani is said to have had an extramarital affair even though theirs was a love marriage. Therefore, Surya detests love marriages.

The moment he learns that his daughter is also in love with Chanti, he decides she should marry a man of his choice and not the boy she loves. And his choice also happens to be the same boy as he is the son of a psychiatrist (AVS), a close friend of his.

Rohit has no expression. Anu looks too old for him. Ali and other seasoned artistes instill some life to the lifeless character.

Among the songs 'Krishna Sastrilo Bhavageethmai' is sensible and melodious. And the film, in short, reflects the dialogue of Ali.
