The film can be summed up in two words: Violence Unlimited.
Uday Kiran and Anitha are cast together again after 'Nuvvu
Nenu'. Tanikella Bharani plays a corrupt minister while Ashish
Vidyarthi is his stooge, in the role of a Circle Inspector.
Siva Krishna plays another police officer. In this set up
of main characters, imagine where the heroine fits in.
The
storyline is a compendium of routine scenes and stock characters
like a middleclass man making visits to pension office to
get the sanction and the officer openly demanding money. The
latter also prides over his illegal earnings. Paruchuri Venkateswara
Rao and Devadas Kanakala play these roles.
There
is a comedian (played by Sunil) who eats away our brains with
a great length of dialogue than the hero. The comedy is played
up always at the wrong time countering the running mood of
the situation. Everything put together adds to the general
wilderness of the drama. The story meanders through impossible
and improbable situations.
Shriraam
(Uday) wants to become a police officer. Having applied for
the job, he awaits the interview. The recruiting officer (Siva
Krishna) discovers in him an honest young man. He wants to
settle scores with a corrupt Circle Inspector Shankar (Asish
Vidyarthi), nicknamed as 'Emcounter Shankar', who is in the
pay of a minister. On an occasion when CI misbehaves with
Shriraam's girl friend Madhu (Anitha), he beats up the cop.
From
then on Shankar's hunt for Shriraam begins, who is, by then,
selected for S.I. post. The appointment needs a pre-verification
of the candidate's character and social credentials. Once
Shriraam realizes that he is in direct confrontation with
a senior officer, he tries to avoid him till he gets the posting.
But Shankar applies all methods to blackmail people to extract
statements against Shriraam, dubbing him as an extremist.
Thus
goes the film on and on, testing our patience. Amid all this,
a tiff arises between the lovers on the issue of his job.
Emotions
do not get proper delineation in the film. Nothing fructifies
in this aimless drama. Songs don't make an impact. Ditto with
the picturization.
Uday's
performance is average. There is no scene that makes us sit
up and watch. Even character artists like Tanikella Bharani
and Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao get uninspiring roles. Siva
Krishna's role of a recruiting officer makes no sense. Music
and photography are average.
