The eagerly awaited movie from the sensational director Rajamouli has hit the screens. Being animated movie also, fashion has played a very key role in presenting movie tremendously. The fashion designer of this movie is none other than Mrs Rama Rajamouli. The hard work of the stylist and designer is depicted in all aspects of movie. Let’s get into the detailing of the trends and styles in Eega movie.
Nani
Nani enters the screen in a casual red color t-shirt in a very natural manner in a significant love scene. He appears in hooded shirts in song , fight and in love scene with heroine. Though he is simple and casual, he looks more stylish with no beard and light moustache. His semi spiked hair style also well suited him. A little rough look was also achieved through chain he wears on neck and threads he wears to his hands. The casual boy look was successfully achieved on Nani through the styles and costumes.
Samantha
Samantha plays a ’girl next door’ kind of role in this movie. She is a miniature artist by profession. She enters screen in a casual t-shirt with jeans. The impressive work of the designer and stylist is observed in presenting Samantha in a gorgeous manner through the costume selection and creative accessories. Samantha wears kurtis made of linen and cotton fabric. The color combinations are well chosen according to situations like wearing cool blue check shirt in song (which of course is the best costume to her). The bright colors are used in happy scenes while other colors with prints on costumes are used according to the mood of the scene. Though she wears casual wear, the designer wear look is achieved on them with the hangings used and the special designs created on the edges of the tops. The styling was not only achieved through costumes, but also through creative accessories like using lockets with pendants of heart shaped with pencil and feather of the fly. This indicates the correlation of the animation with fashion proving the importance of fashion in animated movie. The simple yet glamorous Samantha was featured beautifully and gorgeously in this movie than her previous movies.
Sudeep:
Sudeep appears nice and appealing in the movie with stylish costumes which depict his negative role perfectly. The costumes chosen for him are elegant designer suits with different collared patterns. He wraps scarves around his neck instead of common ties. Different wrapping styles of scarves are observed in this movie which would impress youth in trying them in their daily styles. He also wears casual t-shirts with jute pants. The colors picked are well adapted to the intensity of the situation (specially representing his negative role). The two different hair styles are observed in styling Sudeep before and after revenge starts. Wearing watch on right hand, using plain as well as shaded goggles added to his stylish look.
Eega
The movie is about the revenge of ant, “Eega”. This animated character of the movie, is least expected in adding preference to styling and fashion perspective of the movie. But incidentally, this expectation is wiped out through the style being given to Eega. The amazing creativity of the designer was well proved by providing needle as a weapon to Eega depicting the importance of needle in fashion world. The miniature artistic profession of heroine was well utilized in improving accessories to the Eega like the miniature glasses for safety against HIT used by villain and the metal legs given to Eega by Samantha. This makes obvious that fashion is not different from story but was imbibed into it in every part of movie. The miniature house and the furnishings of the house are also interesting aspects in the movie.
Conclusion
The observation into colors will make one realize absence of yellow color in the costumes, but the balance of colors according to the situation of scenes is well carried throughout the movie. The accessories designed creatively, not only played a major role in story, but also stood besides costumes in completing the fashion of the movie successfully. The effective and efficient work of the designer and stylist emphasized fashion as a remarkable perspective in an animated movie.
