Hyderabad Film Club and A.P. Film Directors’ Association deems conduct of Hyderabad International Film Festival, under its aegis, as an extension of their activities, which provides a unique opportunity to film lovers of this region of watching some of the greatest works that are being produced in the world.
With support of Government of Andhra Pradesh, HFC has been able to make an impact in the cultural scenario of Hyderabad.
The objective of the HIFF, under HFC’s aegis is to provide common platform for the filmmakers of the world to project their excellence of the film art contributing to understanding and appreciation of film cultures of different nations in the contest of their social and cultural ethics and promoting cooperation among the world’s population. In this context, it believes in the dictum “Vasudaika Kutumbakam” (The entire world is one family).
World Cinema, World Classics, Focus on a country, Indian Cinema, Telugu Cinema, Short and Documentary films. Also, there will be Seminars, Workshops, and Interaction sessions everyday.
Competition for Short and Documentary Films is the main highlight of the festival. Competition section restricted to films produced in India between January, 2005 & 2006.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy has given consent to inaugurate the festival on March 22, 2007.

Entry to the festival screenings in the above 2 theatres is strictly through Delegate Passes.

Every day 5 shows.
Entry in the above theatre is for public with Show Passes. Some seats will be allotted for Press & Delegates.

Delegate passes have been earmarked under the following categories

For Delegate passes, a fee of Rs.300/- for the entire period of the festival is charged. These passes can be obtained from the festival office Sri Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet, on payment of this by Cash, and production of TWO PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOGRAPHS.
These delegate passes will be disbursed from March 18th at the festival office.
HYDERABAD FILM CLUB
Hyderabad Film Club (HFC) is a pioneering voluntary organization with its avowed mission to propagate the cause of Good Cinema in Hyderabad. Hyderabad Film Club has been holding academic sessions on cinema comprising film studies, and has been promoting cinema that combines high aesthetic, social and educational values.
HFC takes its inspiration from the first ever steps in this direction, tracing back to 22ND April 1937, when the first film Society, Amateur Cine Society, Bombay was born, and later efforts of the Bombay Film Society (1943), and the Calcutta Film Society (1947). Federation of Film Societies with its 250 film societies in the country has been spearheading the movement of bringing good cinema to the connoisseurs of this art. In March 1974, Hyderabad Film Club was born, with an avowed objective of creating a movement at Hyderabad for better appreciation and understanding of cinema. The objectives of the club are: *

To organize and participate in film festivals, lectures, seminars, conference etc. in India and abroad.
In the process HFC has been organizing several thematic film festivals and hosted a number of film personalities from Indian and abroad during their film screenings and film festivals.
A.P.FILM DIRECTORS’ ASSOCIATION
Ever since the film industry has shifted itself from the then South Indian film capital Madras to Hyderabad, the Andhra Pradesh Film Directors Association has been striving for the welfare of the directors in particular and the industry in general. Formed in 1982 the Association has now entered the Silver Jubilee Year has notable national figures like K.Viswanath, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao, K.Raghavendra Rao, Bapu, B.Narsing Rao, Ram Gopal Varma, and Nagesh Kukunoor, Krishna Vamsi, and so on. The Association is having a film library contains about 3000 books and 3000 CD/DVD’s
1st EDITION OF HYDERABAD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Hyderabad International Film Festival (HIFF) will take place in Hyderabad, from March 23 to March 29, 2007. Its goals are:

To increase audience awareness for the art of film making world over, through an extensive presentation of new international films, with particular focus on Asian Cinema.

To contribute to the Indian promotion and marketing of Indian cinema.

To celebrate the great art of cinema of the past, through retrospectives, tributes and “carte blanche” to leading figures of Telugu cinema.

To provide a relaxed and comfortable setting for useful contacts between local and international industry people, in this renowned heritage centre, Hyderabad, which is considered as the gateway to Indian culture, where the north and southern culture meet.
The Festival consists of the following sections:
1. World Cinema - About 50 films from 25 countries
2. World Classics - 4 to 6 films
3. Telugu Classics - 4 to 6 films
3. Focus on South Africa – 7 films
4. Indian Cinema - 10 – 12 films
5. Telugu Popular Cinema – 10 films
7. Indian Short & Documentary Films - Competition
8. Seminars, Workshops, Face-to-Face sessions, etc.
To encourage the young filmmakers, a competition section for Short & Documentary films is arranged.
Awards for Short & Documentary Films:
1. Best Fiction Film (12 - 30 minutes) - Rs. 50,000
2. Best Fiction Film (03 - 12 minutes) - Rs. 25,000
3. Best Non-Fiction Film (12 - 30 minutes) - Rs. 50,000
4. Best Non-Fiction Film (03 - 12 minutes) - Rs. 25,000
