Story
This is the story of four bachelors who are desperate for money. They realize that the easy way to become rich is to corner a rich girl and make her fall in love. They square up on Ritu (Tanu Sri Dutta) who moves to their neighborhood. She along with her grandparents come to their town to search more about the details behind the suicide of Ritu's brother. The rest of the story is all about how these guys get mixed up in a mafia tangle.
Actors: Kunal Khemu is pretty good in this film. Sharman Joshi is very spontaneous with comedy. Tusshar Kapoor is good. Rajpal Yadav is the plus point of the film with his eccentric acts. Tanushri Dutta is alright. Murali Sharma is alright as the mafia don. Om Puri is perfect. Rasika Joshi is nice as nagging landlord.
Story - Screenplay - direction: Story of the film is an old one and the Telugu film titled 'Madhura Nagarilo' that came around 15 years back. Screenplay of the film is adequate though it should have been more gripping towards the climax. Direction by Priyadarshan is very typical. He succeeded in generating laughs in few episodes.
Other departments: Dialogues deserve a special mention. Artwork by Sabu Cyril is good. Cinematography is adequate. The title song of the film is good. But other songs fail to impress.
Analysis: First half of the film is fun and second half has suspense element. Climax should have been better. This film offers quite a few comedy sequences (especially by Rajpal Yadav). Though it is not a great film, Priyadarshan's Dhol could be watched at your leisure. It is a typical multiplex comedy.
