The prestigious Filmfare awards for South India region will be presented on 9th of September at a grand function to be organized in Chennai. There will be 12 categories in Telugu section and 9 categories in South Indian section. The best film, best director, best actor, best actress, best artist in comic role, best performance in negative role, best playback male singer, best playback female singer and best lyricist awards will be presented in exclusive Telugu section.

Best male debut, best female debut, best action director, best art director, best editor, best choreographer, best cinematographer and Lifetime Achievement award will be presented in South Indian category.

Unlike earlier functions, this time Filmfare is not going to announce the winners before hand. The names of the winners would be known only during function irrespective of winners making it to the function or not.
