The Movie Artistes' Association has been established during
the year 1993 to get together all the artistes' who act in
Telugu films and to redress their grievances. We have about
500 members now. All these years it has flourished under the
able guidance of Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao as its Hon-Advisor
and Sri. Chiranjeevi as its Founder President. During the
past few years Movie Artistes' Association has come to the
rescue of yester years who brought glory to Telugu films an
industry are now suffering with financial and health problems.
Movie Artistes' Association in its turn could able to provide
financial help and solace to some of the needy members. To
name a few
Sri Krishna Rao, Hero of the first Telugu
film "Bhakta Prahlada", Smt.Ganga Ratnam a veteran
artiste, Sri. Potti Veeraiah, typical character artiste who
has physical disability, Sri.Chandra Mouli, who has suffered
with heart-attack etc. Now they are all leading a problem
free life with the moral and financial help given to them
by Movie Artistes' Association. Movie Artistes' Association
has helped some artistes' who are alone, by setting them in
a old age home. Movie Artistes' Association has also constituted
a welfare fund and the interest accrued there in is used to
help the artistes for their medical expenses, children schooling
etc. All the members of Movie Artistes' Association are covered
by Mediclaim policy for a family of four and for one lakh
rupees and is costing Movie Artistes' Association about 8
to 10 lakh rupees a year. Since the inception, Movie Artistes'
Association has come a long way and supporting its artistes
when need be. On 11th November, 2003 Movie Artistes' Association
has celebrated its 10 years celebration at PRAGATI RESORTS
and felicitated all the elders above 65 years of age and the
programme was a grand success.
The entire Telugu film industry has also settled in this historic
city and the shootings are done in Andhra Pradesh.
At present Movie Artistes' Association is put up its office
in the Film Nagar Co-operative Housing Society Ltd. Compound
and consists of one room only. Because of its multifarious
activities Movie Artistes' Association requests you to please
sanction 2 acres of land behind M/s. Padmalaya Studios and
the the Association can construct its own office, with necessary
provision for indoor and out door games also. In this context
plese allow Movie Artistes' Association to put up that A.P.
Film Development Corporation Ltd., has already agreed upon
to allot the land in their meeting and minutes were also recorded.
But due to various reasons the same could not become a Government
Order.
Movie Artistes' Association once again requests you to please
sanction the necessary Land and for which act of kindness
Movie Artiste's Association and its members shall ever be
grateful to you.
