Press
meet of Annapurna Films' 'Manmadhudu' was arranged today at the
set erected for the film in Annapurna studios. The set was a modern
corporate building for an ad agency called 'Abhi Ad Agencies'. Nagarjuna
plays the role of ad manager Abhiram in this film. A huge vinyl
poster of Birla temple and water filled Hussain Sagar was pasted
ppposite the ad agency building to give a feeling that the building
was located on the hilly area near Birla Temple. The entrance of
the building has an A shaped glass door to symbolically represent
A from Abhi.
Vijaya
Bhaskar (director), Trivikram (story and dialogue writer), Nagarjuna
(hero) and Sonali Bendre (heroine) participated in the press meet.
Talking to the press about the role of Nagarjuna in the movie, Vijaya
Bhaskar said that being a handsome man, Abhiram is considered as
Manmadhudu by the people around him. But on contrary to that, Abhiram
hates women. Why and how he hates women is a point to be clarified
on the screen. Inspite of his strong hatred for the opposite sex,
he somehow falls in love with heroine. Vijaya Bhaskar did not divulge
any further details just terming the movie to be a beautiful love
story.
Talking
next, Nagarjuna said he was enjoying each and every moment of the
making of this film. He had special mention for Trivikram by saying
that he immensely enjoys the humor in Trivikram dialogues. He specially
mentioned about the foreign episode which has some rib tickling
comedy scenes with Brahmanandam. He also went on to say that, those
scenes would be a feast for comedy lovers. When asked whether Manmadhudu
is a class or mass film, Nagarjuna said that there is no distinction
of mass or class for a good film. A good film would make all kinds
of people come to theaters like Nuvve Kavali did.
Manmadhudu
has six songs scored by Devi Sri Prasad.
Trivikram
and Sonali Bendre spoke very little on this occasion. The director
said that the film is complete except for 2 songs and climax. The
film is expected to be released in the third week of December 2002
(most likely on the 20th of December).
