Ravindra Arts new venture with Editor Shankar as the director kicked off on last Saturday. Chakri is playing the mainlead. The veteran producer, Tammareddy Bharadwaja who did Anthapuram with Krishna Vamsi earlier is producing this film. A mumbai lass Priyanka is doing her debut in Telugu films with this movie.
Tammareddy Bharadwaja, who has the knack for spotting unrecognized talent around did give a chance to Editor Shankar, who worked from all the Ram Gopal Varma's films right from 'Shiva'. As an editor, he won four Nandi awards. Editors in the film Industry are unsung heroes. There are incidents where a shabby film worked well because of good editing and good film failed because of shoddy editing. In the past Editor Mohan shown the world the power of an Editor by producing a series of Mega Hits with non-stars as heroes. With Chakri and Editor Shankar up his sleeve, Tammareddy Bharadwaja is poised to produce another hit.
Title dilemma
Upendra seems to be in dilemma. As his latest film 'Oke Mata' turned out to be a damp squib, the producers who ran to Bangalore to cast Upendra for this film have fallen in dilemma. Initially they decided the title as 'Neethone Untaanu'. Later on they wanted to change the title to 'Ravindra' to cash on the fad created by 'Upendra' as a title based hero. After the flop of 'Oke Mata', the director has toned the character based titles to 'Neethone Vuntaanu' so that it can appeal to class viewers.
According to producer, the hero in this film is chased by Rachana and Sanghavi and the suspense of the film is to find out to whom Upendra says, 'Neethone Vuntaanu'. Prabhakar is directing this Upendra starrer.
Ramya as Andhra Pellam in Kannada
After playing in 'English Pellam - East Godari Mogudu', it's Ramya Krishna's turn to don the role of 'Andhra Pellam in a Kannada film titles 'Andhra Hendthi'('Andhra pellam' in Telugu). Thriller Manju is playing Hero in this film. This film's shooting was triggered on Sunday at Bangalore.
According to the director, this film depicts the love between a Kannada guy and an Andhra girl and highlights the turbulence after marriage and a smooth ending with positive attitude.
Bombay Banned in Srilanka
Mani Ratnam's master piece, 'Bombay' was banned in Srilanka officially. All this drama took place when the official television of Srilanka announced to broadcast 'Bombay' with Simhali subtitles in Srilanka. But due to the strong protest by Simhali Muslims, the director of Television issued an order not to exhibit this film.
