Raghu Kunche talks about his signature tunes and about his latest tune ‘Subba Lakshmi’ from Devudu Chesina Manushulu (DCM)
I had been a singer and music director for quait a few films. In my career, I am proud of 4 songs that have my signature on them. These are .1 Enduke Ravanamma 2. Where is the party. 3. Raaye Saloni and 4. Subba Lakshmi.
It was Puri Jagan who made me a music director for Bumper Offer which is produced by him. Enduke Ramanamma got immensely popular from that film. Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar gave catchy and contemporary lyrics about this recession songs. This song is definitely most demanded song whenever I go for live performances. This song reached almost all Telugu people across the globe.
I sang for another film titled Maa Vaadu. Its a dubbing film featuring Simbu. ‘Where is the party’ became a rage purely due to lyrics, singing style and picturization of the song. That song was played in all pubs and discotheques.
After listening to Enduke Ravanamma song, MM Keeravani has asked me to sing Raaye Saloni for Maryada Ramanna film. This song was also a chartbuster due to catchy tune by Keeravani and superb steps by Sunil.
Subba Lakshmi (Devudu Chesina Manushulu)
I went to Narsipatnam to attend the 11th day ceremony of Puri Jagan’s father around 2 years back. It was a bharat Bandh on that day. I and Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar were waiting for the vehicle. I saw Subba Lakshmi name on the back of a lorry. I wanted to do a peppy song on Subba Lakshmi. Bhaskarabhatla immediate responded and gave a few catchy lines to go with. I mentioned to Puri about Subbalakshmi song while returning from Narsipatnam. He liked it immensely. When Puri Jagan gave me opportunity to score for Devudu Chesina Manushulu, I made everybody listen to this song and it became a favorite song for everybody. Ravi Teja opined that this song was written by keeping him in mind. It sy\uited Ravi Teja so well. This song is lively and of Ravi Teja’s type. This song will become a chartbuster like Ravanamma.
