YVS Chowdary proved himself to be the warrior of Telugu cinema by fighting against divide talk and poor response in the beginning of the release of the film. He gave aggressive publicity and tempted the crowds to throng to the theaters by showing the strengths of Devadasu. This film picked up in 6th week and went onto become a big blockbuster. Devadasu is running with good crowds even after 100 days. On this eve, YVS arranged 100 days function of Devadasu in great style at Rama Naidu studios on the night of 1st May.

Bala Krishna Nandamuri, Dasari Narayana Rao and D Rama Naidu graced this occasion as chief guests. The other guests who attended this function are Srivanthi Ravi Kishore, Ramesh Prasad, B Gopal, Rajamouli, MRV Prasad, Boyapati Seenu, Bhagawan, Danayya, ML Kumar Chowdary, R Narayana Murthy, Surya Kiran etc.

I want to score music for Bala Krishna’s film - Chakri
Chakri said, “I am very happy to participate in this 100 days function. YVS Chowdary is the sole reason for this film to become a hit. He gave me the opportunity score music when I was in flops. I would like to work for many more films of YVS Chowdary. I am very keen to work for a film starring Bala Krishna.”

I want YVS Chowdary to direct Bala Krishna – SS Rajamouli
SS Rajamouli said, “I attended the audio launch of this film at the same venue 5 months back. YVS Chowdary believes in the adage ‘Dhairye Sahase Lakshmi’. I saw the film in the first week and liked it a lot. But there was a flop talk at that time. I did not congratulate him at that time. It went on to become a super hit after a few weeks. I am officially congratulating YVS Chowdary on such a huge success on this dais today. I want YVS Chowdary to direct a film with Bala Krishna. I am sure that it will create unbeatable records in collections.”

Devadasu will collect 3-4 crores in Nizam – D Rama Naidu
D Rama Naidu said, “I saw this film after completion of 100 days. Devadasu is an extraordinary film. YVS Chowdary exploited USA locations well. He presented story in a good way. I also liked the music and songs (Chakri & Chandrabose). We distributed this film through Suresh distributors in Nizam. When I asked my manager in the first week, he said that Devadasu would collect one crore. Now this film is poised to collect 3-4 crores in Nizam. Telugu film industry needs hits like Devadasu.”

YVS Chowdary is doing lot of contribution to industry – Ramesh Prasad
Ramesh Prasad (of Prasad Labs) said, “I could not watch Devadasu in Prasads multiplex as it got divided talk in the first week. Later on I had to watch it in Mallikharjuna, Kukatpally. I liked the film very much. YVS Chowdary is a sincere director. He is doing lot of contribution to Telugu film industry.”

Devadasu’s success is audiences’ success – Bala Krishna Nandamuri
Bala Krishna Nandamuri said, “I remember attending audio function of this film a few months back. I often wonder how time flies by and now we have 100 days festival tonight. I am sure this film will run for silver jubilee. This film is neither YVS Chowdary’s success not film industry’s success. This success belongs to our beloved audience. YVS Chowdary is an uncompromising director. He also makes sure that there is important role for heroine too. Heroines got prominent roles in films like Narasimha Naidu (Simran), Samarasimha Reddy (Anjala Zhaveri) and Bobbili Simham (Roja) while acting apposite mass hero like me. YVS should continue this path and reach the level of Dasari one day. I still remember Dasari giving sensational blockbusters like Sardar Papa Rayudu and Bobbuli Puli prior to my father entered politics. I know hero Ram even before he became a hero. Heroine Ileana too did well.”

Director YVS Chowdary said, “My first production venture Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo was released on the same day (1st May) in 2002. Today is Devadasu’s 111th day. In the beginning, Devadasu could not attract big crowds and I became nervous. We changed our publicity pattern with the help of GK Mohan and projected the plus points of the film through promotional material. The collections have picked in 2nd week in Nizam. It took 6 weeks to gain momentum in Andhra and Ceded. Mouth talk by satisfied cinegoers helped this film. When I was depressed, Aswini Dutt called me up and offered me financial help and moral support. Sravanthi Ravi Kishore gave good guidance. Chiranjeevi and Bala Krishna saw the film and encouraged me. Dasari is an inspiring director. NTR inspired me to become a film director. Whenever I am depressed, I visit NTR ghat and spend few moments for mental peace. Bala Krishna – who is a reserved person by nature – encouraged me by attending muhurat, audio launch and 100 days function of Devadasu. I am very much thankful to him.”

Devadasu is one the best scripts I have seen in the recent times - Dasari
Dasari said, “YVS Chowdary is a dedicated devotee of NTR. This function of Devadasu is a genuine 100 days function. Incidentally Devadasu is the first 100 days film of year 2006. YVS Chowdary is known for his guts. He gave great characterization and body languages to hero role. Devadasu has the best script I have seen in the recent days. It is a rare feature for any film to pick up collections after 40 days. Music by Chakri is excellent. When I listened to the audio, I said that five songs were great and remaining six songs would be liked by everybody after film’s release. Devadasu is a technician’s film. I was disappointed with Telugu film industry’s performance in the last year. But this year already delivered many hits like Devdasu, Lakshmi, Style, Sri Ramadasu, Pokiri and Veerabhadra. Telugu film industry boasts of great actors and directors. But unfortunately our guys are crossing borders to hire directors from other languages. We have great new generation directors like Rajamouli, Puri Jagan, VV Vinayak, YVS Chowdary, Teja and AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary. Kommineni Venkateswara Rao is the man behind the success of Bommarillu vari banner. YVS Chowdary and Kommineni are like the pair of Krishna and Arjuna. Ram has got great success with his first film. He should be very care in future and maintain humbleness.”
