Released for Sankranthi 2006, Venkatesh - VV Vinayak combination film Lakshmi went on to become a blockbuster and celebrated 50 days in 215 centers (highest ever for Venkatesh). Producer Nallamalupu Bujji arranged 50 days function of Lakshmi at Sir CRR College Grounds, Eluru on the night of 12th March 2006. MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, DIG Narasimha Reddy, Collector Agarwal, SP jaganmohan Reddy, Maganti Babu, D Suresh Babu, Kodali Nani, KL Narayana, KS Rama Rao, Sagar, EVV, C Kalyan and KC Sekhara Babu attended this function as guests.

Speaking on the occasion hero Venkatesh said, “The success of Lakshmi film encouraged me a lot. The success of the film go to the entire unit of Lakshmi. I am happy to have delivered many hits in my career spanning 20 years from Kaliyuga Pandavulu to Lakshmi. People started calling me Lakshmi Bava after the release of this film."

Venkatesh also danced to a tune of this film along with Amma Rajasekhar. Bhargavi and Venu Madhav anchored this evening. VV Vinayak touched the feet of his mentor director Sagar. Sunil, Brahmanandam and LB Sriram entertained the crowds with their one-liners.
