K Jagadish Reddy and Harish Reddy are remaking a popular Malayalam film titled as Lanka in Telugu as ‘Pokiri Pilla’. Audio launch of this film was held at preview theater of Prasad Labs on the night of 12 December. P Sudhakar Reddy (Pradhana Karyadarshi – APCC) attended this function as chief guest. Minister for Information and Broadcastign Shabbir Ali too participated in the event. The other guests include NV Prasad, EVV, Chalapati Rao and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam.

Speaking on the occasion P Sudhakar Reddy said, “Congress Government always encouraged Telugu film industry. We heard that the film industry is discouraging dubbing films. The art of cinema has no language and boundaries. Hence, we should deter from such activities.”

Producer Jagadish Reddy said, “Story of the film is based in Srilanka. This film is based on a real incident. Pokiri Pilla is all about how a girl takes revenge on IPKF (Indian Peace Keeping Force) officer for destroying her family. Mamata Mohan Das plays title role. I would like to thank Shabbir Ali and P Sudhakar Reddy for gracing this occasion. I am the kind of person who wants my distributors and exhibitors enjoy profits. That is the reason why I give so much publicity to my films. On this eve, I would like to request Shabbir Ali and Dharmavarapu to initiate an action to abolish tax on small budgeted films.”
