Audio of Ram Gopal Varma’s latest film Shiva 2006 was launched at a high profile function in Marriot, Hyderabad on the night of 11th August. The team of Shiva (1989) graced this occasion. Nagarjuna and Amala released the audio of Shiva 2006.

The other heroes who made it to the event include ANR, Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, Sumanth and Nitin. Puri Jagan, B Gopal, Rasool Ellore, Chandra Siddardha and Ramana also attended the function.

The team of Shiva (1989) who came to the function include Nagarjuna, Amala, S Gopal Reddy, Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry, Tanikella Bharani, Raghuvaran, Kota, Siva Nageswara Rao, Sathibabu, Bhanodaya, Mani, Chinna, Ram Jagan, G Murali, Satyanarayana, Sushma, Uttej etc.

Tanikella Bharani shared his experience of Shiva (1989). He said, “I saw Ram Gopal Varma for the first time when he visited the sets of Rao Garillu. Later on I got a call from him and he asked me to meet him at Annapurna Studios office in Chennai. When I met him I was wearing a jeans pant and white kurta (similar to Nanaji get-up). He asked me to pen dialogues for his venture. I wrote dialogues for comedy films like Sri Kanakamahalakshmi Dance Troup earlier. I filled lot of entertainment in dialogues and wrote the first half. When I showed him, he asked me to cut down the jokes in dialogues and write serious stuff.”

Director Ram Gopal Varma said, “People say that it was me who paved way for director wannabes to directly direct a film instead of working as associate. But I give the fundamental credit to Nagarjuna. He is the one who had the vision and started this trend by offering me Shiva film. He took lot of risk and gave me complete freedom. We used untested novel technology for that film. Even I was not sure of what I was doing even though I had lot of clarity. Shiva 2006 is not an attempt to better Shiva film. I am attempting Shiva kind of characterization for a newly joined cop. I am giving new cloths to Shiva. Ilayaraja reused his old tunes to score some songs in this film. We used the tune as it is for ‘Botany’ song as I felt it was Shiva’s signature song that should be carried forward to Shiva 2006 as it is. All other tunes were reworked upon to apply for contrastingly different situations in this film.”

Hero Nagarjuna said, “I am really happy to meet the team of Shiva after a gap of 17 years. Ramu wanted to go through experience of making Shiva again and he made Shiva 2006. I am sure that he would recreate the magic.”
