Dasari's 60th birthday celebrations were held in grand style at his residence of 4th May amidst his fans and film celebrities. On this occasion, Dasari arranged a press meet.

About Dasari:
Dasari started working in street plays at the age of 9 to earn his livelihood. He entered Telugu film industry at the age of 20. He completed 40 years in film industry. He started celebrating his birthday in 1975 for the sake of happiness of fans. Since then, he celebrated his birthday amidst his fans every year. Dasari came to industry without any backing and made wonderful films and biggest blockbusters in his career.

Dasari's achievements this year:
On 3rd May 2005, in the capacity of Minister of Coal & Mines Dasari signed on the 7th wages and salaries agreement of Coal workers which has been pending for the past years. On 4th May 2005, he laid foundation stone for Chitrapuri Colony, which accommodates thousands of AP Film workers. He also helped in abolishing the slab system and getting back the percentage system which allows more creative films to be made.

Are you going direct Telugu films now?
Telugu film industry is like my mother. But because I have a very responsible job in Delhi, I need to take permission from PM. If PM gives me permission, then I would definitely direct Telugu films.

How about producing films in the direction of budding directors?
I am always open for new ideas and new directors. If anyone comes up with good storyline and limited budget proposal, I would produce films on my home banner.

Are you open to act in films?
Right now I am not interested in acting in films.

What about the speculations of you starting Udayam newspaper again?
I will not speak anything about it now.
