Vijaya Nirmala celebrated her birthday on 20th February at Planet 10, Hyderabad. This function was graced by Superstar Krishna, Jayasudha, Naresh and fans.

During this occasion, Naresh (son of Vijaya Nirmala) said that he would change his name from Naresh to Vijaya Naresh as a tribute to her mother. Vijaya Nirmala expressed her happiness over fans and well wishers coming from all over. She announced that she would direct a film with Krishna as hero in this year.
