Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao - one of the most admired producers on Telugu cinema - was expired on 26th of this month. AP Film Producers Counsel has arranged a condolence meet on the evening of 28th March. Lots of film personalities attended this meet to pay homage to Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao.

Producer’s Counsel President KC Sekhara Babu said, “Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao is the most principled and disciplined producer. He made sure that all his films propagate good human values. His film Dr. Chakravarthy won the 1st Nandi award. He was also conferred with Raghupati Venkaiah award in 1993.”

D Rama Naidu said, “I went to Chennai to make films in 1962 and started my first venture Ramudu - Bheemudu in 1962. During that time Vijaya, Annapurna, Jagapati, Gemini and AVM banners used to be the model production houses for the new producers. I saw him carrying script all the time at shooting spot. He used to be dressed in an impressive style. He introduced ANR to Telugu film industry. Every producer should learn from him.”

VB Rajendra Prasad (Jagapati pictures) said, “Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao is like Pedabala Siksha to Telugu film industry. He always honor his word and stuck to his time commitment. He is one of the greatest producers of Swarnayugam of Telugu cinema. Though he left us, his name would be remembered forever.”

Tammareddy Krishna Murthy said, “I have never seen such a disciplined producer like Dukkipati. He is a visionary and he discovered ANR by spotting him in stage plays at Gudiwada. It was Madhusudhana Rao and ANR who brought Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. Saradhi was the first studio in Hyderabad and ANR made it compulsory that all his producer should make films only in Hyderabad. ANR and Madhusudhana Rao also contributed a lot towards the incorporation of Film Nagar. May his soul rest in peace.”

Murali Mohan said, “Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao had great command over filmmaking and had knowledge about all 24 crafts. He made only clean films without any vulgarity. He spotted talent like ANR. I am fortunate to act as hero in Premalekhalu film produced by Dukkipati. He is very caring producer and used to make sure that we get enough rest so that we could look fresh when acting in scenes.”

Tripuraneni Maharadhi termed Dukkipati as one of the greatest humanitarians.

Veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana said, “All Dukkipati’s films are gems. He changed the way of filmmaking in Telugu. He is also the Godfather of ANR. Let me narrate an incident. I wanted to act in prestigious Annapurna pictures banner. I met Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao and requested him to offer me any role. His response was little negative. I took it very personally and vowed that I will act in Annapurna banner only if Dukkipati request me personally. I got a call from Dukkipati Madhusudha Rao to do an urban role in Vichitra Bandham film. I reply to him by saying that I would think over it and let him know after two days. I made him lookout for me and then I accepted the offer. He gave a huge dialogue for my first scene in that film and I okayed it in the first shot. Later on we became very close. Our association sometimes make ANR feel jealous. May Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao’s soul rest in peace.”

Actor Narayana Rao said, “Dukkipati was famous in Tamil too. I acted in tamil remake version of Dukkipati film and it was received very well. He used to always think about films.”

Red star Madala Ranga Rao said, “Though he produced family oriented films, Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao always made sure that there are revolutionary songs in his films. Padavoyi Bharateeyuda, Aaduthu Paaduthu, O Rangayya poola Rangayyo are few examples of revolutionary songs conveyed in a very sensible style. He always made sure that there are good human values in the relationships between characters in his films. The tribute to Dukkapati can be done by making good films. Dukkipati also was influenced by left-oriented poets like Chandra Rajeswara Rao and Srisri. May his soul rest in peace.”

R Narayana Murthy suggested that statue of Dukkipati should be installed in his hometown.

Journalist Prabhu said that he wrote a book titled ‘Swarna Yugamlo Annapurna’ that talks about Annapurna Pictures banner established by Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao. Prabhu worked over this book for 3 years in consultation with Dukkipati. He said that Dukkipati injected organized style of filmmaking in Telugu film industry.

Producer Ashok Kumar coordinated the event.
