Vijaya Nirmala arranged a press meet on the eve of Krishna getting Padma Bhushan at Narayanamma women’s college located in Tolichowki where the shooting of her latest film Neramu Siksha is going on. T Subbirami Reddy graced this meet as the guest.
Speaking on this occasion T Subbirami Reddy said, “Krishna has dedicated his life to Telugu cinema for the past 44 years at various capacities like actor, director, producer and studio owner. He is a man with no pride and no prejudice. He is a humanist. Everybody in film industry wholehearted appreciated Krishna when this Padma Bhushan award was announced. Krishna is a perfect gentleman and he truly deserves Padma Bhushan. Let us hope that he would get many more awards of highest order in the future.”
Responding to Padma Bhushan award Krishna said, “I started my career with Tene Manasulu film in 1965. It was the first social color Telugu film. I acted in first James Bond film and first Cowboy film. I acted in and produced the first Telugu cinema scope film (Alluri Seeta Rama Raju) and first Telugu 70mm film (Simhasanam). I would like to thank Indian Government for selecting me for Padma Bhushan award.”
Jaya Sudha said, “I am very happy about it. It is great news to Telugu film industry. It was Krishna and my aunt Vijaya Nirmala who introduced me to films. I am also happy that I am doing a film with them when this award was announced.”
Vijaya Nirmala said, “Yesterday evening a fan called Sudha from Vijayawada called me and told me that there is a scrolling in TV channels that Krishna got Padma Bhushan award. Fans of superstar are celebrating this occasion as a festival. It is an unforgettable day in our lives. Everybody loves Krishna.” |
