Raj
TV's Telugu version VISSA channel was launched today (23rd
June 2003) at 7:30 pm by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh
- Chandra Babu Naidu - in a grand function organized at
Silpakala Vedika, Madapur. On this occasion, a musical night
was held under the baton of music director Sri with the
likes of Smita, Rajesh and Gopika Poornima singing various
songs from Telugu musical hit films.
The
other guests who were present at the occasion were Minister
for information S Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Minister for Home
and Cinematography T Devendar Goud, Raj brothers, K Raghavendra
Rao and Dasari Narayana Rao.

brothers started Raj TV in 1994. They turned that TV into
profit venture within a year. They started another channel
Raj digital plus in the year 2000. Now they lauched Vissa
channel in Telugu. This channel is named after their mother
'Vissalakshmi'
Speaking
on this occasion, S Chandra Sekhar Reddy said that most
of the TV serials are making the women cry. With those kinds
of sad and sentimental TV serials, housewives are getting
low on spirits and spoiling the moods of husbands. Hence,
he requested Vissa channel to make TV serials that carry
forward euphemism and hope. He also said that Vissa channel
should encourage local talent by doing straight Telugu serials
than dubbing the existing Tamil serials in to Telugu.
Dasari
Narayana Rao said that Hyderabad boasts of the world's best
talent in all areas including acting and creative fields.
He also remembered the great actors like NTR and SVR who
were born in Andhra Pradesh.

Chandra Babu Naidu said that AP has been the forerunner
in all areas and technologies. He said that he would give
all the co-operation if Vissa channel produces straight
Telugu serials. He also said that AP has so much of talent
and resources that it can even offer facilities for Tamil
channels to producer Tamil TV serials in Hyderabad. As reciprocation
to Dasari's advice, Naidu added that Dasari would be available
to direct TV serials.
