Namitha’s first cop film ‘Desa Drohi’ was launched at a function organized in Annapurna studios on the morning of 20 April. Gipinadha Reddy sounded the clapboard and KS Rama Rao switched on the camera. KS Nageswara Rao directs this movie.

I shed 7 kgs – Namitha
Actress Namitha said, “I have done lots of roles wearing short dresses. There is a limit to glamorous roles. The exposing aspect for any heroine stops with bikini. I reached that level. Now I want to do some thing different. I shed 7 kilos in the last few weeks and I am going be slimmer. I followed Yoga and strict diet. I am going to do my own stunts in this movie. I watched lots of Vijaya Santhi’s movies. I am taking precautions not to be influenced by her.”

Director KS Nageswara Rao said, “Namitha has done glamorous roles so far. She is doing the role of a super cop in this movie. There will not be any exposing in this movie. It is a film with social purpose and message orientation. At the same time there will be ample entertainment. It is an action oriented film and Santhi Chandra is doing the villain role.”

Santhi Chandra said, “It is a nice story I am doing after my debut in 3 film. I am doing a backbone character. It will offer some surprising elements.”

Producer Prasad said, “I am the president of Vijaya Santhi fan club for decades. I produced three films with Vijaya Santhi. Vijaya Santhi became synonym for lady cop roles in Telugu. Namitha is going to take her place with this movie. She also slimmed a lot. We are planning to release this movie in August.”
