Muhurat of Yaswanthi Art Movies' film Kunkuma was held on the morning of 30th January 2005 at American House, Hyderabad. Beeram Madhusudhan Reddy, Baby Yaswanthi and Chandra Madhusudhan did the opening honors. The first shot was taken on Ranganath and Jayant.

Director Jyothindranath said that this film is a female oriented film with family story. This film would be shot in single schedule that would conclude on 5th March. This film would be releasing for summer 2005.
