Muhurat of Prem Rajyam that has Ram Kiran and Meera Krishna in the main leads was launched at Annapurna studios on the morning of 5 December.

TVS Raju sounded the clapboard, Durgabhai switched on the camera and Balaram directed the first shot.

Director JS Rao said that as the title denotes the film is about love. TVS Raju said that all the songs this film will be rendered by the same singer.

Hero Ram Kiran acted in a film titled Nee Venta Nenunta in the past. Heroine Meera Krishna did a couple of Malayalam films before making debut in Telugu.
