With the onset of the annual Ayyappa Dheeksha season, a devotional film titled "Sabari Gireesa Ayyappa" was launched today at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad. The film is made on Sri Padmanabha Productions banner (Production No. 3). It is produced and directed by PV Ramana. Sivaji Raja, Puja Roshan (debut heroine), Krishna Bhagwan, Ranganath and others form the vital cast. The film will have regular shooting schedule from today and it is set for release in the first week of December.
Movie Moghal Dr. D. Ramanaidu sounded the clapboard on Sivaji Raja-Puja Roshan pair. Telugu Film Producers' Council President Tammareddy Bharadwaja did the first shot direction. Hero Srikanth switched on the camera.
PV Ramana (Director and Producer) said: "We have several films coming each year on Lord Ayyappa. But, our film has a unique specialty. We concentrated much on the practical side of Ayyappa Dheeksha. It became a common feature that people putting on Ayyappa mala think that God will bring them bounties. Devotion has nothing to do with desires. Several of the devotees who take this dheeksha mostly are ignorant of the sanctity of it. Our objective is to educate the devotees and aspiring dheeksha-takers about the glory of Lord Ayyappa, besides giving practical tips to them."
Sivaji Raja said: "The film shows the story of a person who would dupe a girl in the garb as a devotee of Lord Ayyappa. What are the after effects faced by him will form the major portion of the film."
