Usually, when a film becomes a success, it’s the director and producer who celebrate first and gain the most. And when it fails, they are the ones who are hit the hardest. A producer struggles to recover from financial loss, and a director may have to wait a long time for another opportunity. We've seen many such cases in the past. That’s why directors and producers stay proactive right from the first day of shooting. They grab every chance to talk about their film, move carefully to avoid any mistakes, and hope the rest of the team shows equal commitment. If there’s even a small sign of success, they put their full energy into turning that spark into a flame.
But today, the 8 Vasanthalu success meet showed a very different picture. It was the the cast and crew (except the director) trying to keep their small film alive. They were so new and inexperienced that they couldn’t even respond properly to a reporter’s pointed question.
One reporter bluntly asked why the film portrayed a particular caste in a demeaning way. But no one on stage could give a clear or strong answer. The director who could’ve handled the situation wasn’t present, and the producer who should’ve had the authority to respond wasn’t there either. No one seemed to know why they were absent. And those very same director and producer made no effort to explain their absence either.
Among the media members who attended the meet, a few who actually watched the film mentioned the heroine’s acting and the quality of the cinematography. To make matters worse, cinematographer casually said the film would soon be available on Netflix and would look better there than in theatres, especially in terms of visual quality. This left everyone present at the event dumbfounded.
In the end, the so-called “success meet” felt like a token event—filled with half-hearted questions and vague answers, leaving everyone wondering what the purpose of the gathering even was.

సాధారణంగా సినిమా విజయవంతమైతే అందరికంటే ముందు పొంగిపోయేది లాభపడేది దర్శకనిర్మాతలే. ఏమాత్రం బెడిసికొట్టినా కుంగిపోయేది కూడా వాళ్ళే. ఆర్ధిక కష్టాల నుండి నిర్మాత కోలుకోవడానికి, మరో అవకాశం దక్కించుకోవడానికి దర్శకుడికి చాలా సమయమే పడుతుంది. గతంలో అలాంటి సంఘటనలను చాలాసార్లు చూసాం. అందుకే వాళ్లిద్దరూ సినిమా షూటింగ్ ప్రారంభ రోజు నుండి పరుగులు పెడుతూనే ఉంటారు. ఏమాత్రం అవకాశం ఉన్నా వాళ్ళ వాణిని చెప్పుకోవడానికే ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తూ ఉంటారు. ఎక్కడా ఏ పొరపాటు జరగకుండా ఆచితూచి అడుగులు వేస్తూనే ఉంటారు. మిగిలిన బృందం కూడా అలాగే ఉండాలని ఆశిస్తారు. ఏమాత్రం విజయపు అవకాశాలు అనిపించినా ఆ విజయాన్ని ఇంకా ఇంకా దిగ్విజయం చేయడానికి సర్వశక్తులూ ఒడ్డుతారు.
కానీ దానికి భిన్నమైన దృశ్యం ఈరోజు 8 వసంతాలు సక్సెస్ మీట్ లో కనిపించింది. తమ చిన్న సినిమాను బ్రతికించుకోవడానికి అందులోని చిన్నవాళ్ళే ప్రయత్నాలు చేయడం కనిపించింది. వాళ్ళు ఎంతలా చిన్నవాళ్ళంటే ఒక రిపోర్టర్ అడిగిన ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానం చెప్పలేకపోయినంత. సదరు ఒక కులాన్ని ఎందుకు తగ్గించే ప్రయత్నం ఈ సినిమాలో ఎందుకు జరిగిందని కొట్టినట్టే అడిగిన ఆ రిపోర్టర్ కు ఏమీ గట్టిగా బదులివ్వలేకపోయారు వాళ్లంతా. దానికి సరైన సమాధానం చెప్పే అవకాశం ఉండే దర్శకుడూ లేడు, సమాధానం చెప్పాల్సిన శక్తి ఉండే నిర్మాతా లేడు. ఎందుకు లేరో అన్నది అక్కడున్న వారికీ ఎవ్వరికీ అంతవరకూ తెలియదు. ఎందుకు రాలేదో ఆ దర్శక నిర్మాతలూ చెప్పే ప్రయత్నాలూ చేయలేదు.
వచ్చిన మీడియాకు కుబేరతో పోటీ పడలేక చతికిలపడిందని చెప్పలేకపోయారో, నిరుత్సాహపడ్డారో, బాధపడ్డారో, భయపడ్డారో తెలియలేదు. చివరి నిమిషం దాకా సినిమాను కాపాడాల్సిన వాళ్ళే అలా రిలీజ్ తరువాత సినిమాను వదిలేయడం వాళ్ళతో పాటూ మిగిలిన వాళ్లకు నష్టం చేసే పరిణామమే. కాకపోతే మైత్రీ మూవీ మేకర్స్ లాంటి పెద్ద సంస్థలకు కోలుకోలేని దెబ్బ కాకపోయినా, రిలీజ్ ముందు రోజూ కనిపించిన సదరు దర్శకుడికి కాస్త కోలుకోలేని దెబ్బే అవుతుంది. అక్కడకు వచ్చిన మీడియా పాత్రికేయుల్లో ఆ సినిమాను చూసిన వాళ్ళు కేవలం ఆ హీరోయిన్ నటనను, కెమెరా పనితనాన్ని మాత్రమే ప్రశంసించడం తప్ప మొత్తం సినిమా గురించి మాట్లాడిన జాడే లేదు. పుండు మీద కారం చల్లినట్టు త్వరలోనే నెట్ఫ్లిక్ లో ఈ సినిమా రాబోతుంది, థియేటర్ లో కంటే విజువల్ క్వాలిటీ పరంగా అక్కడే బాగుంటుంది అనడంతో అక్కడున్న వాళ్లంతా నోరెళ్ళబెట్టి చూడాల్సిన పరిస్థితి. ఏదో మొక్కుబడి ప్రశ్నలు సమాధానాలతో ముగిసిన ఆ సక్సెస్ మీట్ ఉద్దేశ్యం ఏంటో మరి!
