Acharya which was released on 29 April 2022 shocked everybody with its result. Collections were low and the industry started speculating that the effect of event films (RRR & KGF2) and OTT revolution is derailing theatrical business. Media started propaganda against Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan about their remunerations for the film. Nobody has clearly started what has really happened. In an informal chat with the media, megastar Chiranjeevi has clarified that he and Ram Charan have returned 80% of remuneration after Acharya failed at the box office. He has also said that it’s his responsibility to take care of the producers when a film is rejected.
Godfather, which was released for Dasara on 5th of October has raked in good collections. Producer NV Prasad has released Godfather on his own and he is extremely happy.
