The trailer of Prabhas-starrer Adipurush was released at an event in Hyderabad on Tuesday and it looks like the makers have attended to the blunders they’ve committed in the VFX department when they released the teaser last year.

A cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, Adipurush, set 7,000 years ago, sees Prabhas as Raghav, while Kriti Sanon is playing Janaki and Sunny Singh will be seen as Lakshman. Saif Ali Khan has played the demon king Lankesh.

Playing out over three minutes and 19 seconds and packed with a goosebumps-inducing Jai Shri Ram track, the trailer begins with Bajrangi meditating in a secluded place and narrating the tale of Rama who is a symbol of Dharma and righteous path. It wastes no time in introducing a disguised Lankesh as well as he abducts Janaki while Jatayu tries to come to her rescue. The next part of the trailer focuses on how Raghava– for whom principles are above everything– mobilizes the Vanara army, inspires them and takes on Lankesh and his kingdom to free Janaki. There are shots of Bajrangi flying and fetching the Sanjeevani herb by lifting the entire mountain (to resuscitate Lakshman) and him burning Lankesh’s kingdom with his tail. For all those who’ve grown up watching the classic Ramayana tales of the yore, the trailer of Adipurush is a pure nostalgia ride except that it’s set on a massive scale with refined VFX work.

To be also presented in 3D and IMAX, Adipurush, a joint production venture between Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair, flies into cinemas on June 16. UV Creations is releasing the film in Telugu.
