Directed by MS Raju and produced by Kashi Visalakshi Balusu under the Sri Adi Varaha Productions banner, with Ajay KR as the presenter, 'Agadha' features Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Shravan Reddy, Ulka Gupta, Jovika Vijayakumar, Bhanu Chander, Shiju, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Roshan Basheer, Shreya Rani Reddy, Viva Raghava, Robert Master, Arna Muller and Kanakava in key roles.

The film is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on August 14. Ahead of the release, hero Shravan Reddy interacted with the media on Saturday and shared several interesting details about the film.

Why was there such a long gap after 'Dirty Hari'?
-'Dirty Hari' was released during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although it had a direct OTT release, we received an excellent response from the audience. I got several offers around that time as well. However, the pandemic and lockdowns caused delays. I spent almost a year working on 'Mangalavaaram'. Finally, MS Raju Garu gave me the opportunity to be part of 'Agadha'.

Tell us about your character in 'Agadha'.
-My character in 'Agadha' is completely different from the one I played in 'Dirty Hari'. The character has been designed with multiple dimensions and several shades. I really enjoyed playing such a layered role.

I feel very lucky that a visionary filmmaker like MS Raju Garu has given me another opportunity. 'Agadha' was a very challenging and completely different experience for me.

'Agadha' will be a brilliant divine mystic thriller. The film has plenty of horror and thrilling moments. MS Raju Garu always tries to bring something fresh to his films and ensure that there is an interesting hook point.

Looking at the trailer, it seems like you are playing a negative character. Is that true?
-There is no outright negative character in the film. The characters behave the way they do because of the situations they find themselves in. The story unfolds along the lines of good versus bad and God versus evil.

I didn’t really have time to do much homework or prepare for my role. I came onto the sets just four days after the story was narrated to me. I simply performed the way MS Raju Garu instructed me. You could say that most of my preparation happened right there on the sets.

What are your expectations for 'Agadha' and your character?
-How can I have no expectations? (Laughs.) 'Dirty Hari' was successful on OTT. However, for a hero, box-office numbers are very important. I hope 'Agadha' gives me that much-awaited box-office stamp.

How was your working experience with MS Raju Garu?
-The stories and the characters MS Raju Garu created for 'Dirty Hari' and 'Agadha' feel very fresh and unique to me.

When I saw MS Raju Garu on the sets of 'Agadha', he seemed like a completely different person. His passion and dedication towards cinema are incredible. I cannot match the level of passion and commitment he has for filmmaking.

How is the VFX work in 'Agadha'?
-'Agadha' was shot mostly in natural locations. We did create a few sets where necessary. Those sets were required to establish the mystic and horror atmosphere of the film.

The VFX work in our film is very neat and has been designed to create a strong impact.

Will 'Agadha' have a sequel or prequel?
-Films like this definitely offer the flexibility to explore a sequel or prequel. Even if it is not specifically titled Part 2, the story can be expanded and developed further.

Tell us about your current and upcoming projects.
-I am currently working on a film directed by Chandra, who has previously worked with the Raj & DK team. We have already completed the first schedule in Kashmir.

A few other projects are currently in the discussion stage.

What kind of roles would you like to play?
-I want my character to have importance and substance.

My role in 'Agadha' is very different from what I have done before. I always want to experiment with something new and take up different kinds of roles across different genres.

శ్రీ ఆదివరాహ ప్రొడక్షన్స్ బ్యానర్ మీద అజయ్ కేఆర్ సమర్పణలో కాశీ విశాలాక్షి బలుసు నిర్మాణంలో ఎం.ఎస్. రాజు తెరకెక్కించిన చిత్రం ‘అగధ’. ఈ మూవీలో కామాక్షి భాస్కర్ల, శ్రవణ్ రెడ్డి, ఉల్కా గుప్తా, జోవికా విజయ్‌కుమార్, భాను చందర్, షిజు, వనిత విజయ్‌కుమార్, రోషన్ బషీర్, శ్రేయా రాణి రెడ్డి, వివా రాఘవ, రాబర్ట్ మాస్టర్, ఆర్నా ములేర్, కనకవ్వ ముఖ్య పాత్రలను పోషించారు. ఈ సినిమాని ఆగస్ట్ 14న భారీ ఎత్తున విడుదల చేయబోతున్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలో హీరో శ్రవణ్ రెడ్డి శనివారం నాడు మీడియాతో మాట్లాడుతూ చిత్ర విశేషాల్ని పంచుకున్నారు.

‘డర్టీ హరి’ తర్వాత ఇంత గ్యాప్ ఎందుకు వచ్చింది?
‘డర్టీ హరి’ కరోనాలో రిలీజ్ అయింది. ఓటీటీలోకి నేరుగా వచ్చినా అక్కడ మాకు అద్భుతమైన రెస్పాన్స్ దక్కింది. ఆ టైంలోనే నాకు చాలా ఆఫర్స్ వచ్చాయి. కానీ కరోనా, లాక్డౌన్ కారణంగా ఆలస్యం అవుతూ వచ్చాయి. ‘మంగళవారం’ సినిమా కోసం దాదాపు ఏడాది వెచ్చించాను. ఇక చివరకు మళ్లీ ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారు నాకు ఈ ‘అగధ’ అవకాశాన్ని ఇచ్చారు.

‘అగధ’లో మీ పాత్ర తీరు గురించి చెప్పండి?
‘డర్టీ హరి’కి పూర్తి భిన్నంగా ‘అగధ’ పాత్ర ఉంటుంది. చాలా పార్శ్వాలు ఉండేలా కారెక్టర్‌ను డిజైన్ చేశారు. చాలా షేడ్స్ ఉన్న ఈ పాత్రను పోషించడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారి వంటి విజన్ ఉన్న ఫిల్మ్ మేకర్ మళ్లీ నాకు అవకాశం ఇవ్వడం చాలా లక్కీ అనిపిస్తుంది. ‘అగధ’ నాకు ఎంతో ఛాలెంజింగ్‌గా, డిఫరెంట్ ఎక్స్‌పీరియెన్స్ ఇచ్చింది. డివైన్ మిస్టిక్ థ్రిల్లర్‌గా ‘అగధ’ చాలా అద్భుతంగా ఉంటుంది. ఇందులో హారర్, థ్రిల్ మూమెంట్స్ చాలా ఉంటాయి. ఏదైనా సరే కొత్తగా ఓ హుక్ పాయింట్ ఉండాలని ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారు ఎప్పుడూ ప్రయత్నిస్తూనే ఉంటారు.

‘అగధ’ ట్రైలర్ చూస్తే మీదే నెగెటివ్ పాత్రలా కనిపిస్తోంది?
ఇందులో నెగెటివ్ పాత్ర అనేది ఉండదు. పరిస్థితుల వల్లే పాత్రలు అలా ప్రవర్తిస్తుంటాయి. గుడ్ వర్సెస్ బ్యాడ్, గాడ్ వర్సెస్ ఈవిల్ అన్నట్టుగా సాగుతుంది. నా పాత్ర కోసం హోం వర్క్ చేయడానికి గానీ, ప్రిపేర్ అవ్వడానికి గానీ నాకు టైం దొరకలేదు. కథ చెప్పిన నాలుగో రోజే సెట్ మీదకు వచ్చాను. ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారు చెప్పింది చెప్పినట్టుగా నటించేశాను. నేను అంతా కూడా సెట్‌లోనే ప్రిపేర్ అయ్యానని చెప్పొచ్చు.

‘అగధ’ విజయంపై, మీ పాత్రపై ఎలాంటి అంచనాలున్నాయి?
అంచనాలు లేకుండాఎలా ఉంటాయి (నవ్వుతూ). ‘డర్టీ హరి’ ఓటీటీలో సక్సెస్ అయింది. అయితే హీరోకి బాక్సాఫీస్ నంబర్లే ముఖ్యం. ‘అగధ’తో నాకు ఆ బాక్సాఫీస్ స్టాంప్ వస్తుందని ఆశిస్తున్నాను.

ఎం.ఎస్. రాజు గారితో మీ వర్క్ ఎక్స్‌పీరియెన్స్ గురించి చెప్పండి?
‘డర్టీ హరి’, ‘అగధ’ కోసం ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారు రాసిన కథ, నా పాత్ర చాలా కొత్తగా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారిని ‘అగధ’ సెట్‌లో చూస్తే చాలా కొత్తగా కనిపించారు. ఆయనకి సినిమా పట్ల ఉండే తాపత్రయం, డెడికేషన్‌ను నేను మ్యాచ్ చేయలేను.

‘అగధ’లో వీఎఫ్ఎక్స్ వర్క్ ఎలా ఉంటుంది?
‘అగధ’ చిత్రాన్ని దాదాపు నేచురల్ లొకేషన్స్‌లోనే షూట్ చేశారు. కొన్ని మాత్రం సెట్స్ వేశారు. ఈ మిస్టిక్, హారర్ ఫీల్‌ను ఇవ్వడానికి సెట్స్ వేయాల్సి వచ్చింది. మా సినిమాలోని వీఎఫ్ఎక్స్ వర్క్ చాలా నీట్‌గా, ఇంపాక్ట్ క్రియేట్ చేసేలా ఉంటుంది.

‘అగధ’కి సీక్వెల్ గానీ ప్రీక్వెల్ గానీ ఉంటుందా?
ఇలాంటి చిత్రాలకు కచ్చితంగా అలాంటి సౌలభ్యం ఉంటుంది. పర్టిక్యులర్‌గా పార్ట్ 2 అని వేయకపోయినా.. కథను అల్లుకోవచ్చు. మరి ఎంఎస్ రాజు గారు రెండో పార్ట్ ఎప్పుడు అంటారో చూడాలి (నవ్వుతూ).

ప్రస్తుతం చేస్తున్న, భవిష్యత్ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ల గురించి చెప్పండి?
రాజ్ అండ్ డీకే టీంలో పని చేసిన చంద్ర దర్శకత్వంలో ఓ మూవీని చేస్తున్నాను. ఆల్రెడీ కాశ్మీర్‌లో ఫస్ట్ షెడ్యూల్ పూర్తి చేశాం. కొన్ని ప్రాజెక్ట్‌లు చర్చల్లో ఉన్నాయి.

ఎలాంటి పాత్రల్ని చేయాలనే కోరిక ఉంది?
నా పాత్రకు ఇంపార్టెన్స్ ఉండాలని కోరుకుంటాను. ‘అగధ’లో నా కారెక్టర్ చాలా డిఫరెంట్‌గా ఉంటుంది. ప్రతిసారి డిఫరెంట్ జానర్‌లో కొత్తగా ప్రయత్నించాలని చూస్తుంటాను.
