After missing multiple release dates in the past, the makers of Akhil Akkineni-starrer long-in-the-making Agent on New Year day, while dropping an action-packed glimpse, also revealed that the film will be out for summer. The exact release date, however, hasn’t been disclosed.
The glimpse begins with an aerial night shoot of a massive planned action sequence. Soon it shifts to director Surender Reddy explaining something to his cameraman Rasool, while action choreographer Vijay is seen preparing his men for the battle ahead. Men who are masked up are seen flying everywhere, while the cameras are positioned perfectly to capture their fall. Surender seems to have filmed a high-octane emotional action sequence and going by what went behind the scenes, the block sure will be one of the talking points of the film. As the smoke from explosions and dust begins to settle in the air, a bruised Akhil, with a killer look, is seen walking like a man who has accomplished a major task.
An espionage action-drama, Agent, also peppered with a generous dose of humour, is a joint production venture between Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments and Surender Reddy’s Surrender2Cinema. Malayalam megastar Mammootty will be seen in a crucial role, while debutante Sakshi Vaidya is cast opposite Akhil. The supporting cast comprises the likes of Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma and Posani Krishna Murali. Vakkantham Vamsi has penned the story of the film, while Hip Hop Tamizha is composing tunes, marking his second collaboration with Surender after Dhruva.
