The trailer of Akhil Akkineni and Mammootty-starrer Agent was released at Kakinada on Tuesday and by the looks of it, a wild ride is in the offing.
Playing out over nearly two minutes and twenty seconds, it begins with the big question by Mammootty to Akhil: “Why does he want to be a spy?” He replies, “Gun in hand, action, emotion and every minute is filled with goosebumps.” He is assigned the job of nabbing a syndicate’s head God (played by Dino Morea in his Telugu debut) whose abode is in Europe. Per the think tank of RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), the operation’s success percentage is just five percent. Wonder why a wannabe spy is tasked with it? According to Mammootty’s part, Akhil is an ape who can slip inside and outside of a lion’s cage easily. While it’s tough to decipher what goes around next as Akhil embarks on a dangerous mission that takes him to Europe, Middle East and north eastern India with speedy car chases, sprints on rooftops, it’s obvious that director Surender Reddy has crafted Agent as an action spectacle with an espionage touch to it.
To bow out on April 28, Agent is a joint production venture between Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments and Surender Reddy’s Surrender2Cinema. The supporting cast comprises the likes of Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma and Posani Krishna Murali. Vakkantham Vamsi has penned the story of the film, while Hip Hop Tamizha has composed music, marking his second collaboration with Surender after Dhruva. Newbie Sakshi Vaidya is paired opposite Akhil.
#Agent trailer is impressive. Mounted on rich budget, it has very interesting international premise. Music and visuals are of top notch.
It has good action sequences. Has the potential to be a blockbuster if done well! 👍
