It’s more or less confirmed that Anil Ravipudi will be directing megastar Chiranjeevi up next, with the former’s close friend Sahu Garapati attached to produce the project. In an exclusive conversation with idelbrain.com ahead of Sankranthiki Vasthunam release, Ravipudi shed light on what to expect from his film with the megastar.
“The project belongs to the entertainment genre. Aside from entertainment, there will be something else,” Ravipudi stated.
He added, “With him, I want to try out a superb characterization, beautiful entertainment with mass elements. Maybe like Gang Leader, Gharana Mogudu and Rowdy Alludu. Fun quotient aside, there was a certain characterization for him in those films. In Gang Leader, there’s a scene at the billiards table with Rao Gopal Rao garu; it’s a massive commercial mass scene; it’s a scene with a lot of spunk and attitude. I want to weave such a character for him. I believe if I make a character with an attitude, it will work out well on him. At the same time I want to retain my kind of entertainment by increasing the scale. Let’s see.”
With the megastar project being realized soon, Ravipudi will be left to work with Nagarjuna, who along with Chiru, Balakrishna and Venkatesh formed four pillars of the industry for over 15 years, completing a full circle for him. “I have to work with one more heavyweight (referring to Nag) and I will in the future. I’m very blessed. I’ve grown up watching them; they were dream heroes. I’m enjoying this phase of cracking jokes and chatting with them. It’s a fanboy moment,” stated the director.
