After breaching Rs 500 crore on day 6, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, continued its golden run on day eight as well, cruising past Rs 600 cr in the process. After collecting Rs 563.3 cr on Thursday, the film added another Rs 37 cross on Friday, taking the overall gross to Rs 600.67 cr.

While the northern critics have largely been divided on the film, it continues to pull in crowds in droves. The drama, Ranbir’s tour de force performance, music, action and shock value has worked in favour of the film big time.

Also, with no major releases to steal a march over until Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki opens (Dec 21), Animal will look to add on more crores to its kitty in the next 13-14 days and emerge as one of the biggest grossers of Indian cinema of all time.

In North America, the film continued its behemoth performance. After crossing $ 9 million there on Thursday, the film added another $ 1 million to its tally on Friday, taking the overall revenue to $10 million. It is now one of the top seven grossing Indian films of all time there.

A joint production venture between Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Pranay Reddy Vanga, Animal focuses on a strained father-son relationship dynamic set against the backdrop of crime and the underworld.
