We all know how Telugu people consume and love to explore Cinema. One of the names behind that huge popularity is legend ANR aka Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Starting his career with Dharmapatni in 1941, ANR scripted a glorious history for Indian Cinema among Telugu people with his incredible performances and memorable classical films.

Even though he achieved huge success and fame with Palnati Yuddham, Keelu Gurram, Laila Majnu, Swapna Sundari he never shied away from being a part of ensemble films like Missamma, Mayabazaar, Gundamma Katha, Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddham, Bhookailas. Be it playing a devotee, a historical soldier, a charming rich man, a poor man struggling to make ends meet, a comical hero, a tragic romantic lead, a middle class father and so on, he lived and breathed in each one of them to a level that we cannot look beyond him in such roles.

He always remained humbleand stayed true to his roots as a poor boy with huge dreams in his eyes. While he built Annapurna Studios and revolutionised Telugu Cinema, he never tried to pompously showcase his pride. ANR always welcomed new talent and shared screen presence with his contemporaries and big stars of next generation. In fact, he proved his meticulous dedication to complete a film with his last one Manam. Even though he had been diagnosed with dangerous cancer, he acted with great enthusiasm and even dubbed for his performance on his own, with grave difficulty.

Indian Government awarded him with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his rich contribution to Cinema but he never let the success sit on his head. Remembering his legacy on his 100th birth anniversary, Annapurna Studios is celebrating his birthday month, by releasing 10 of his iconic films in theatres. While his abundance of talent keep inspiring generations to come, his humility will be a lesson to stay grounded and thankful for every achiever
