More than a year after his last release, Naveen Polishetty is back and it looks like he has revived the project, Anaganaga Oka Raju, which he announced with Sithara many moons ago. The only difference is that Kalyan Shankar, who was originally on board to direct the project, has made way for Maari. As Naveen turned a year older on Thursday, the makers dropped a pre wedding video as a glimpse from the film and it promises a ride of mishaps and mayhem like no other.
Spanning a little more than three minutes, the video opens with guests sitting at a dinner table with a lavish spread, while one of Raju’s assistants, played by Chammak Chandra, is perplexed when he spots a guest about to munch Kaju Katli with a silver foil instead of a gold foil. When the guest points out that Kaju Katli is wrapped around a silver foil, Chandra agrees but notes that Raju Katli should have a gold foil. We are later introduced to Raju (Naveen) who is watching the wedding video of Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s son Ananth. Raju gets a call from Mukesh and he takes the opportunity to have the contact numbers of Ananth’s wedding guest members like Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and John Cena for his wedding, which is due next year. He further asks Mukesh whether Ananth’s wedding will span for two more seasons in an apparent humorous dig. Later, he is seen posing for his pre-wedding photography, dancing to the diktats of the photographer, and soon is joined by his bride played by Meenakshi Chaudhary. Together, they make for a lovely pair and we can’t keep calm. The photographer’s suggestions to the soon-to-wed couple will leave you in stitches.
Rounding up, the long clip is a testament to the whacky comic timing that Naveen possesses. Boy, did we miss him. His subtle but in the good spirit digs at various recent happenings indicate that the film is poised to be a modern and delightful rollercoaster of love, laughter and chaos. The clip is just a glimpse into the endless laughter and madness that awaits audiences.
