Many Telugu films with kabaddi as the backdrop have won audiences’ hearts and also delivered strong box office collections. Films like Kabaddi Kabaddi, Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu, and Okkadu stand as examples. In recent times, Arjun Chakravarthy is among those films that created buzz right from its teaser release. With today’s trailer launch, expectations have only risen further. The trailer looks highly realistic and engaging.
Arjun Chakravarthy tells the life story of a kabaddi player—how a sportsman who once saw immense success, fame, and recognition, eventually fell into the trap of addictions due to sudden twists in his life. The film explores which direction his life took after that, and whether he ultimately achieved his true goal.
In this film, Vijaya Ramaraju plays the titular role of Arjun Chakravarthy, with Sija Rose as the female lead. Vijaya Ramaraju underwent an intense physical regimen, transforming his look and weight eight different times. The team’s hard work is clearly visible in the trailer. Dayanand Reddy appears in another key role, while Ajay plays the coach. Ajay Ghosh also features in an important character. Through the coach Vijay’s words—“Arjun’s life is not one that melts away in tears”—the director hints at the strength hidden behind Arjun’s past.
The film showcases the struggles, insults, highs, and lows in a sportsman’s journey. Director Vikrant Rudra seems to have poured his heart into telling this story. His line, “A war isn’t one fought with weapons and armies. The real battle is the one fought with empty hands and an empty stomach,” comes across as deeply inspiring.
Arjun Chakravarthy is slated for release on August 29. Produced by Srini Gubbala, the film’s music is composed by Vignesh Bhaskaran.
